Africom Zimbabwe Open
The Zimbabwe Open is a professional golf tournament held in Zimbabwe, currently played on the Sunshine Tour. History The tournament was first played in 1984 and from 1985 to 1992 was part of the Safari Circuit, a collection of events in Africa that were played by professionals based on the European Tour during their winter. In 1991 and 1992 the event was also part of the Challenge Tour. From 1993 it moved onto the First National Bank Tour, which was later renamed the Sunshine Tour. When it was held in the weeks preceding the Nedbank Golf Challenge, the tournament attracted some of the world's leading players, as they used it as a warm up to the big money invitational. Past winners include major winners Vijay Singh and Nick Price who, along with Mark McNulty, is the most successful player at the event, both men having recorded three victories. 2023 European Tour
The 2023 European Tour, titled as the 2023 DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons, is the 52nd season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. It is the second season of the tour under a title sponsorship agreement with DP World, that was announced in November 2021. In September 2022, the opening six events of the 2023 season were announced; they were all co-sanctioned events, four with the South Africa-based Sunshine Tour and two with the PGA Tour of Australasia, and were scheduled for late 2022. Bryce Easton
Bryce Easton (born 5 September 1987) is a South African professional golfer who plays on the Challenge Tour and the Sunshine Tour. Easton was born in Durban. He joined the Sunshine Tour in 2011 and finished in 46th on the Order of Merit in his rookie season. On 26 May 2012, he picked up his first win on Tour at the Sun City Challenge. Easton eagled the final hole of the tournament to force a playoff with Brandon Pieters, Allan Versfeld, and Andrew Georgiou. He then shot another eagle to win the playoff. Louis Erasmus Albertse (born in Ermelo, South Africa) is a South African rugby union player who last played for the in the Currie Cup and in the Rugby Challenge. Peter Karmis
Peter Karmis (born 10 June 1981) is a Greek-South African professional golfer. Since July 2018, he has played under the Greek flag. In 2009 he became the first player in Sunshine Tour history to record a round of 59. Career Karmis played college golf at Purdue University. Karmis plays on the Sunshine Tour where he has won five times. He won the Lombard Insurance Classic in 2007 and 2009, the Sun Sibaya Challenge in 2016. In 2017, he won the Investec Royal Swazi Open and the Sun City Challenge. Karmis also played on the Asian Tour from 2010 to 2012, highlighted by winning the Handa Singapore Classic in 2010.
