Zambia National Netball Team
The Zambia national netball team represent Zambia in international netball competition, and are governed by the Netball Association of Zambia (NAZ). Zambia won their first international medal when they placed third at the 2011 All-Africa Games in Mozambique. In 2012, they won silver at the Confederation of African Netball Associations (CANA) tournament in Zanzibar, bronze at the COSANA Africa Cup in Tanzania and another bronze at the Diamond Challenge in South Africa. Zambia made their debut on the INF World Rankings in October 2012, placing 22nd. As of 21 July 2019, they are ranked 15th in the world, and 5th in Africa. Charles Zulu was appointed head coach of the Zambian team in April 2012, replacing Davies Twininge. The South Africa men's national netball team, nicknamed the Puma Proteas, represents Netball South Africa in international men's netball competitions, including the Men's Africa Netball Cup and the Men's Fast5 Netball World Series. History Early matches, tournaments The South Africa Men's team has been in development since 2019. They initially play behind closed doors matches against the South Africa Women. 2019 Africa Netball Cup
The 2019 Africa Netball Cup was held in Cape Town from 18-23 October 2019. The tournament featured seven nations including hosts South Africa, defending champions Uganda along with Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Lesotho and Zimbabwe in 2 pool categories. Tanzania pulled out of the tournament due to financial issues, just a day before the tournament opener against Zimbabwe. The tournament was originally supposed to have its scheduled opening match between defending champions Uganda and Zimbabwe but was called off due to the last minute withdrawal by Tanzania. The authorities later revealed that the match between hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe to be the opening match of the tournament while the tournament was later modified with round robin format.
