The AfD Saxony is the state association of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party in the German state of Saxony. The state association is led by a member of the Landtag of Saxony named Jörg Urban. The party holds the second most seats in the Landtag of Saxony and ideologically is positioned on the right-wing, specifically on the radical Right a subset of the far-right that does not oppose democracy. Jörg Urban
Jörg Urban (born 4 August 1964) is a German politician for the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party and is party leader of the AFD in Saxony. He has been a member of the Landtag of the Free State of Saxony since 2014. Under Urban's leadership, the Saxon AfD state association developed so strongly towards the right-wing, that the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution has classified and is monitoring the party as a "secure right-wing anti constitutional effort" in 2023.
