Adventist University of Río de la Plata, the Plata in Spanish language, Spanish: Universidad Adventista del Plata is a private Christianity, Christian coeducational university in Libertador San Martín, Entre Ríos Province, Entre Ríos, Argentina, founded in 1898. The University began as a small rural training school which later became known as Colegio Adventista del Plata (Adventist School of Río de la Plata, the Plata). After being given official recognition by :es:Comisión Nacional de Evaluación y Acreditación Universitaria, CoNEAU in the 1990s and the signing of a decree by President Eduardo Duhalde in 2002, it became the ''Universidad Adventista Río de la Plata, del Plata''. In 1994, its medical school was founded. The Río de la Plata (; ), also called the River Plate or La Plata River in English, is the estuary formed by the confluence of the Uruguay River and the Paraná River at Punta Gorda, Colonia, Punta Gorda. It empties into the Atlantic Ocean and forms a funnel-shaped indentation on the southeastern coastline of South America.
