Adult Swim (Australia)
Adult Swim in Australia was an adult-oriented free-to-air television block that was last aired from Saturday and Sunday nights on 9Go!. It was originally a separate network that shared channel space with Cartoon Network, starting in December 2005 until 31 December 2007. History Adult Swim was first broadcast on Cartoon Network Australia in December 2005 before it was taken down on 31 December 2007. The block is no longer shown on Cartoon Network, but the comedy shows are now airing on The Comedy Channel on 11 March 2008. The block returned with ''Robot Chicken'' and ''Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law'', in March 2008, with ''Aqua Teen Hunger Force'' joining the programming on 1 July. '' The Boondocks'' also airs on the same channel although it is not under the Adult Swim banner and instead airs separately. '' Moral Orel'' has premiered on Australian television. 9Go! is an Australian free-to-air digital television multichannel, which was launched by the Nine Network on 9 August 2009, replacing Nine Guide. It is a youthful channel that offers a mix of comedy, reality, general entertainment, movies, animation and drama aimed at people between the ages of 2 to 18. History 2009: Origins and launch The general concept for GO! was revealed on 23 March 2009, with the Nine Network announcing their intention to start a standard-definition variety-based multichannel, launched midway through 2009. The channel's name and branding was first revealed as GO!99 on 14 April 2009 by TV Tonight, a blog dedicated to Australian television. The channel's final name was confirmed by the Nine Network via '' A Current Affair'' as GO! on 15 July 2009, as well as multi-coloured logo variations. ''Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex'' is a Japanese anime television series produced by Production I.G and based on Masamune Shirow's manga ''Ghost in the Shell (manga), Ghost in the Shell''. It was written and directed by Kenji Kamiyama, with original character design by Hajime Shimomura and a soundtrack by Yoko Kanno. The first season aired from October 2002 to October 2003 and was positively received by critics. A second season, titled ''Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG'', aired from January 2004 to January 2005. The series centers on the members of an elite law enforcement unit known as Public Security Section 9 as they investigate cybercrime and terrorism cases; the cases in the first season often are connected to their pursuit of an elite "Super Class A" hacker and corporate terrorist known only as "The Laughing Man", whose actions end up creating the series' titular "Stand Alone Complex".
