Aduarderzijl (; ) is a hamlet (place), hamlet in the municipality of Westerkwartier (municipality), Westerkwartier in the province of Groningen (province), Groningen in the Netherlands, located to the south of the . Administratively, it is part of the village of Feerwerd. The hamlet is located east of the hamlet of , northeast of the village of Ezinge, north of the village of Feerwerd, and northwest of the of and the village of Garnwerd. The hamlet is home to the lock (water navigation), lock complex of the same name, the . This complex near the Reitdiep consists of restored locks from 1706 and 1867. Feerwerd (; ) is a village in the municipality of Westerkwartier (municipality), Westerkwartier in the province of Groningen (province), Groningen in the Netherlands. As of 2021, Feerwerd had a population of 520. Geography Feerwerd is a small village in the region, between Ezinge, Garnwerd, and Aduarderzijl. The village is located on a double Terp, wierde, which is intersected by the . Most of the houses are located north of this canal and mainly date from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. These closely spaced brick houses with their corresponding roofs along Valgeweg, Aldringaweg, and Oosterweg together form the compact old village centre. The entire village has been designated as a :nl:beschermd dorpsgezicht, protected villagescape. Around the village are several hamlets that fall under the village. Ezinge ( or ) is a village in the Netherlands, Dutch province of Groningen (province), Groningen. It is located in the municipality of Westerkwartier (municipality), Westerkwartier, about 15 km northwest of the city of Groningen (city), Groningen.
