Adrián Ripa
Adrián Ripa Cruz (born 12 August 1985) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a left-back. He played 211 matches in Segunda División over 11 seasons (no goals), with Huesca, Elche and Numancia. Club career Born in Épila, Province of Zaragoza, Aragon, Ripa started his career with Real Zaragoza's reserves. He scored 11 Tercera División goals in the 2006–07 season, but they could not achieve promotion in the playoffs in spite of finishing the regular season in first position. In 2007, Ripa signed with Segunda División B club SD Huesca on loan. He won promotion in his first year, then made his professional debut in Segunda División on 7 September 2008 by coming on as a late substitute in the 1–1 away draw against Gimnàstic de Tarragona. The 2011 Segunda División play-offs took place in June 2011. This was ''Segunda'''s first season with purely promotion play-offs since 1986–87 and the first time playoffs had been used for movement between the first and second tier since 1998–99. This new promotion phase (known as ) was introduced to determine the third team which promoted to 2011–12 La Liga. Teams placed between 3rd and 6th position, excluding reserve teams, took part in the promotion play-offs. Fifth placed faced against the fourth, while the sixth positioned team faced against the third. The 2010–11 Segunda División season (known as the Liga Adelante for sponsorship reasons) was the 80th since its establishment. The first matches of the season were played on 27 August 2010, the regular league ended on 4 June 2011, and the season ended with the promotion play-off finals on 18 June 2011. A buyout clause or release clause refers to a clause in an employment contract. It allows the employee to terminate the contract unilaterally upon payment of a specified (usually substantial) fee to the employer. The fee may be paid by the employee directly, but is more usually paid by a prospective employer who wishes to acquire the employee's services. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time.
