Adriano Correia Claro (born 26 October 1984), known simply as Adriano, is a Brazilian former professional association football, footballer. One of few players in professional football who are genuinely ambidextrous, he was capable of playing as a Defender (association football)#Full-back, full-back or midfielder on both sides of the pitch. After starting his career with Coritiba Foot Ball Club, Coritiba, he moved to Spain in 2005, going on to spend several seasons in La Liga with Sevilla FC, Sevilla and FC Barcelona, Barcelona and win several major titles with both clubs, including the Treble (association football), treble with the latter in 2014–15 FC Barcelona season, 2015. In association football, a penalty shoot-out (previously known as kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a tie (draw), draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as Overtime (sports)#Association football, extra time (if used) has expired. The 2005–06 UEFA Cup, the 35th edition of the UEFA Cup, was won by Sevilla, beating Middlesbrough in the final. It was the first victory for Sevilla in a European competition, and the first appearance by Middlesbrough in a European final. The final took place at Philips Stadion, in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
