Adriane Fugh-Berman
Adriane Fugh-Berman is a professor in the department of pharmacology and physiology, and in the department of family medicine, at Georgetown University Medical Center. She is also the director of PharmedOut, a Georgetown University Medical Center project that promotes rational prescribing and researches the effects of pharmaceutical and medical device industry marketing on prescribing behavior and therapeutic choices. Additionally, she is the Co-Director of the M.S. in Health and the Public Interest (HAPI) Program at the Georgetown University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. Education Fugh-Berman graduated from American University with a B.A. in Literature and Environmental Studies and received a B.S. from the University of the District of Columbia. Dora Fugh Lee, nee Fu Duoruo, is a Chinese-American painter, illustrator, and sculptor born and classically trained in China. She is influenced by European styles. Her work has been recognized and added to prominent public and private art collections in Asia and North America including the Smithsonian Institution. Major General John Liu Fugh (; ; September 12, 1934 – May 11, 2010) was the first Chinese American to attain general officer status in the U.S. Army. He was of Manchu descent. He was the 33rd Judge Advocate General of the U.S. Army. Sarafem
Fluoxetine, sold under the brand names Prozac and Sarafem, among others, is an antidepressant of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class. It is used for the treatment of major depressive disorder, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), bulimia nervosa, panic disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. It is also approved for treatment of major depressive disorder in adolescents and children 8 years of age and over. It has also been used to treat premature ejaculation. Fluoxetine is taken by mouth. Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder
Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is a mood disorder characterized by emotional, cognitive, and physical symptoms that cause significant distress or impairment in menstruating women during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. The symptoms occur in the luteal phase, (between ovulation and menses), improve within a few days after the onset of menses, and are minimal or absent in the week after menses.
