Adrian Yeggs
The Adrian Yeggs were a Southern Michigan League baseball team based in Adrian, Michigan, United States that played from 1909 to 1914 as a whole and 1909 to 1911 under the Yeggs nickname. History According to the book ''Baseball Team Names, 1869-2012'', they were named after safe-cracker James Yeggs, one of the most well-known inmates at a prison located in Adrian. Carl Vandagrift, Frank Gilhooley and Elmer Smith played for them. In 1912, they were renamed to the Adrian Lions Major League Baseball players that played for them include Emil Huhn, Cowboy Jones, Elmer Smith and Bun Troy. They became the Adrian Champs in 1913. They finished first in the league with a 78-47 record and were managed by Dan Jenkins. The team was probably named after the Lion motor car manufactured in Adrian. Southern Michigan League
The Southern Michigan League was a Minor League Baseball circuit which operated between 1906 and 1912. It was classified as a Class D league from 1906 to 1910 and as a Class C league from 1911 to 1912. After that, the league was known as the Southern Michigan Association between 1913 and 1915. The Southern Michigan Association held a Class D status in 1913 and was given Class C recognition in 1914 and 1915. The Association closed up after the 1915 season. Adrian Fencevilles
Adrian is a form of the Latin given name Adrianus or Hadrianus. Its ultimate origin is most likely via the former river Adria from the Venetic and Illyrian word ''adur'', meaning "sea" or "water". Michigan State League
The Michigan State League was a minor league baseball league that operated in various seasons between 1889 and 1941. The league franchises were based exclusively in Michigan, with the league forming on six different occasions. Twenty two different cities hosted teams in the Michigan State league. Adrian Reformers
The Adrian Reformers were a minor league baseball team based in Adrian, Michigan. In 1895, the Reformers played as a member of the Class B level Michigan State League, winning the league championship. The Reformers were also known by the Adrian Demons moniker during the 1895 season. In 1895, Adrian, Michigan had two teams, also playing host to the Page Fence Giants of the negro leagues. With the two franchises sharing management, the Adrian Reformers signed six players from the Page Fence Giants during the 1895 season, integrating the Michigan State League and leading to the moniker change. The Reformers/Demons were followed in Adrian by the 1909 Adrian Yeggs, who began play in the Southern Michigan League. Adrian hosted all 1895 baseball home games at Lawrence Park.
