Adrian Papahagi
Adrian Papahagi (born 20 March 1976, Cluj) is a Romanian philologist, essayist, and politician of Aromanian descent. In 2014, he was one of the founders of the People's Movement Party (PMP). In March 2015, he founded, together with Monica Macovei a new political party, M10. Papahagi is currently a lecturer at the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. Biography Papahagi has Aromanian ancestry, but has declared that "today, I do not feel more Aromanian than Romanian". He is an alumnus of philology at Babeș-Bolyai University, specialized in English studies (1999) and of the University Paris IV-Sorbonne (1998). Between 1997 and 2000, he studied at École Normale Supérieure (Paris). He has a master's degree in medieval studies at University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (1999) and also Ph.D. ("summa cum laude") at the same university. Illuminated Manuscript
An illuminated manuscript is a formally prepared document where the text is often supplemented with flourishes such as borders and miniature illustrations. Often used in the Roman Catholic Church for prayers, liturgical services and psalms, the practice continued into secular texts from the 13th century onward and typically include proclamations, enrolled bills, laws, charters, inventories and deeds. While Islamic manuscripts can also be called illuminated, and use essentially the same techniques, comparable Far Eastern and Mesoamerican works are described as ''painted''. The earliest illuminated manuscripts in existence come from the Kingdom of the Ostrogoths and the Eastern Roman Empire and date from between 400 and 600 CE. Examples include the Codex Argenteus and the Rossano Gospels, both of which are from the 6th century. An academy ( Attic Greek: Ἀκαδήμεια; Koine Greek Ἀκαδημία) is an institution of secondary or tertiary higher learning (and generally also research or honorary membership). The name traces back to Plato's school of philosophy, founded approximately 385 BC at Akademia, a sanctuary of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and skill, north of Athens, Greece. Etymology The word comes from the ''Academy'' in ancient Greece, which derives from the Athenian hero, '' Akademos''. Outside the city walls of Athens, the gymnasium was made famous by Plato as a center of learning.
