Adriaan Paulen Memorial
The Fanny Blankers-Koen Games, abbreviated as FBK Games, is an annual track and field event at the Fanny Blankers-Koen Stadion in Hengelo, Netherlands. It is named after Fanny Blankers-Koen in 1981, but was named Adriaan Paulen Memorial after Adriaan Paulen between 1987 and 2000. It has been part of the World Athletics Continental Tour since 2021. History The first edition was organized on 6 June 1981. Its name honours Fanny Blankers-Koen, who won four gold medals at the 1948 Olympic Games. It was known as the 'Adriaan Paulen Memorial' from 1987 to 2000, in memory of another Dutch athlete, but when Fanny Blankers-Koen was elected as the best female athlete of the 20th century by the IAAF in 2000, it was decided to use the original name "FBK-Games" again. Bram Som
Bram Som (born 20 February 1980, in Terborg) is a Dutch Running, runner who specializes in the 800 metres. His personal best time of 1:43.45 minutes, achieved in August 2006 in Zürich, is also the current Dutch National Record. He missed the 2005 season, but returned in 2006 to win the national Dutch championship for the fifth time since 2000. Later that year he won the European championship. Som participated in the 2000 Summer Olympics as well as the 2004 Summer Olympics. In 2000 he was eliminated in the first round as his time of 1:48.58 was not enough to advance. Four years later he would reach the semi-finals in which he came fifth with a time of 1:45.52. He is currently an 800 m pacemaker, as of the 2016 Diamond League. He is the co-creator and operational director of Wavelight, a pacemaking tool originally designed for training and now used in some actual racing. The 800 metres, or 800 meters (American and British English spelling differences#-re.2C -er, US spelling), is a common track running event. It is the shortest commonly run middle-distance running event. The 800 metres is run over two laps of an outdoor (400-metre) track and has been an Olympic event since the first modern games in 1896. During the winter track season the event is usually run by completing four laps of an indoor 200-metre track. The event was derived from the imperial measurement of a half mile (880 yards), a traditional British racing distance. 800 m is 4.67 m less than a half mile. The event combines aerobic system, aerobic endurance with anaerobic system, anaerobic conditioning and sprint speed, so the 800m athlete has to combine training for both. Abdalleleh Haroun
Abdalelah Haroun Hassan (; 1 January 1997 – 26 June 2021) was a Qatari track and field sprinter. He specialised in the 400 metres. He was the 2015 Asian champion in the event and holds the Asian indoor record. Biography Haroun was recruited at a young age from Sudan by Qatar. He gained eligibility to represent Qatar in February 2015. His first recorded performance was a time of 45.74 seconds for the 400 m in Doha in April 2014, which placed him among the world's most promising young sprinters for the event. He announced himself on the elite scene in his next performance at the XL Galan in February 2015 by running an Asian indoor record of 45.39 seconds, which was also the third fastest ever by a junior category athlete and the fastest ever indoor debut. The 400 metres, or 400-meter dash, is a sprint event in track and field competitions. It has been featured in the athletics programme at the Summer Olympics since 1896 for men and since 1964 for women. On a standard outdoor running track, it is one lap around the track. Runners start in staggered positions and race in separate lanes for the entire course. Churandy Thomas Martina (born 3 July 1984) is a retired Dutch sprinter. He originally placed second in the 200 metres at the 2008 Beijing Olympics but was later disqualified due to a lane violation. Martina secured four and two individual top-five finishes at the Summer Olympics and World Athletics Championships respectively. He was the 100 metres 2007 Pan American Games champion representing the Netherlands Antilles and claimed three individual titles at the Central American and Caribbean Games. The 200 metres, or 200-meter dash, is a sprint running event. On an outdoor 400-metre racetrack, the race begins on the curve and ends on the home straight, so a combination of techniques is needed to successfully run the race. Richard "Torpedo" Thompson (born 7 June 1985) is a sprinter from Trinidad and Tobago who specializes in the 100 metres, 100 metres. His personal best of 9.82 seconds, set in June 2014, was one of the 100 meters, top ten fastest of all time, and a national record. In the 200 meters, he has the fourth fastest time by a Trinidad and Tobago athlete.
