Adria Santana
Adria Santana (29 August 1948 – 30 September 2011) was a Cuban actress best known for her work in the theater. Biography Trained at the National School of Art, Adria Santana soon joined Havana's Teatro Estudio company, where she remained for twenty years. She worked with the directors Héctor Quintero, Armando Suárez del Villar, Berta Martínez, , and Jorge Alí Triana. Her best-known roles were ''Medea'', Bernarda in ''The House of Bernarda Alba'', Lalita in ''Contigo, pan y cebolla'', Camila in ''Santa Camila de La Habana Vieja'', the Cuban play ''Vagos rumores'' (in which Santana considered that she "developed as an actress"), and especially, her work with Abelardo Estorino. He directed her theatrical debut as Belisa in ' by Lope de Vega, and she came to be considered his "fetish" actress. Las Tunas (city)
Las Tunas is a city and municipality in central-eastern Cuba. It is the capital of the Las Tunas Province and was named Victoria de Las Tunas from 1869 to 1976. Geography The city of Las Tunas is located in along the Carretera Central (highway), between the cities of Camagüey, Holguín and Bayamo. In 1943 the municipality was divided into the '' barrios'' of Primero, Segundo, Antonio Machado, Arenas, Caisimú, Cauto del Paso, Cuaba, Curana, Dumañuecos, Ojo de Agua, Oriente, Palmarito, Playuelas and San José de la Plata. National Union Of Writers And Artists Of Cuba
The National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Unión Nacional de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba, UNEAC) is a social, cultural and professional organization of writers, musicians, actors, painters, sculptors, and artist of different genres. It was founded on August 22, 1961, by the Cuban poet, Nicolas Guillen. Initially their objective was uniting the intellectuals within the young Cuban Revolution to maintain a genuine Cuban culture. The group issued ''La Gaceta de Cuba'' beginning in 1962. Cuban violinist and professor Evelio Tieles was President of the Music Section from 1977 to 1984. Manuel Vázquez Portal was expelled from UNEAC because of his dissident views. The Council of State () of Cuba is a 31-member body of the government of Cuba, elected by the National Assembly of People's Power. It has the authority to exercise most legislative power between sessions of the National Assembly of People's Power, subject to its approval, and to call the National Assembly of People's Power into session between its scheduled twice yearly sessions. ''ABC'' () is a Spanish national daily newspaper. Along with and , it is one of Spain's three newspapers of record. History and profile ''ABC'' was first published in Madrid on 1 January 1903 by Torcuato Luca de Tena y Álvarez-Ossorio. The founding publishing house was Prensa Española, which was led by the founder of the paper, Luca de Tena. The paper started as a weekly newspaper, turning daily in June 1905. In 1928 ABC had two editions, one for Madrid and the other for Seville. The latter was named ''ABC de Sevilla''.
