Adouma FC
Adouma FC is a football club from Lastoursville, Gabon. Forfeiting a game because of payment delays, they were one of four teams to withdraw for this reason. LINAF president Brice Mbika Ndjambou chose to convene a meeting of Gabon Championnat National D1 club officials in response- deciding put all four clubs under trusteeship so that the situation will never arise again. Adouma FC had asked to postpone the match but the request was declined by AS Mangasport, the team they forfeited against. Crowned champion of the 2014-15 Gabon Championnat National D3, they got promoted in the 2015-16 Gabon Championnat National D2, leading by Day 11. Lastoursville
Lastoursville or Mandji is a city in east-central Gabon, lying on the Ogooué River, the Trans-Gabon Railway and the N3 road (Gabon), N3 road. It was founded as a slavery, slave depot named ''Mandji'', renamed ''Maadiville'' in 1883 before being named for :fr:François Rigail de Lastours, François Rigail de Lastours in 1886. It grew around palm oil production and as an administrative centre, and soon became a major missionary centre. The town is also known for its caves. The town lies at an elevation of 206 m. Caves Occupying a 90-sq-km site, there are more than 40 caves identified, located in dense primary rainforest close to town. Traces of human activity dates back 7000 years, when the caves were used in rituals. Adouma
The Adouma (or Duma) are an ethnic group of Gabon, in central Africa. They primarily live on the South bank of the upper Ogooué River, in the vicinity of Lastoursville (originally an Adouma village), and are known as expert canoeists or the boatmen. They speak Duma, a Nzebi language of the Bantu family. Their traditions hold that they arrived from the East or Southeast, coming down the Sebe River to the Ogowe, and thence to the Doumé rapids. They made canoes of Aucoumea wood, and sold slaves to the Okandé, receiving European products such as guns and cloth in exchange. The Société du Haut-Ogooué (SHO) established a post at Lastoursville and engaged the Adouma in trade for rubber, ivory, and ebony . Ogooué River
The Ogooué (or Ogowe), also known as the Nazareth River, some long, is the principal river of Gabon in west-central Africa and the fourth largest river in Africa by volume of discharge, trailing only the Congo, Kasai and Niger. Its watershed drains nearly the entire country of Gabon, with some tributaries reaching into the Republic of the Congo, Cameroon, and Equatorial Guinea. Geography Course The source of the Ogooué River was discovered in 1894 by Mary Kingsley, an English explorer who travelled up the banks by steamboat and canoe. The river rises in the northwest of the Bateke Plateaux near Kengue, Republic of Congo. It runs northwest, and enters Gabon near Boumango. Poubara Falls are near Maulongo.
