Admirável Chip Novo
''Admirável Chip Novo'' (English: ''Brave New Chip'') is the debut album of Brazilian rock singer Pitty. Themes and songwriting Pitty is noted for her dark and complex songwriting. The opening track "Teto de Vidro" deals with the capitalistic society and the curiosity some have over other people's lives. "Admirável Chip Novo", "Máscara", "I Wanna Be", and "Só de Passagem" are about falsity and shallow behaviors. "O Lobo" throws back to Prehistory to criticize war and hatred among humankind. The other compositions deal with love, life, and ordinary actions and decisions. Reception ''Admirável Chip Novo'' was a very successful record. It sold more than 800,000 copies in Brazil, enough to be certified platinum (225,000 copies shipped). Unlike most Brazilian recording artists, who release an average of two or three singles per album, Pitty released no less than five singles from the album. Priscilla Novaes Leone (born October 7, 1977, in Salvador, Bahia), better known as Pitty, is a Brazilian rock singer. She had played in two bands, Shes and Inkoma, before starting her solo career in 2003. She has sold over 2 million copies in her career, being one of the best selling rock artists in the 2000s. Pitty was voted the sexiest rock singer of Latin America and Brazil, and the 35th sexiest rock singer in the world in 2010. She was the most awarded Brazilian rock artist of the 2000s. Pitty won several awards at the MTV Video Music Brazil, among them Artist of the Year twice, Video of the Year, Best Live Performance, and three times as the lead singer of the Dream Band. Pitty won approximately 51 awards during her seven-year career, a record. Peu Sousa
Pedro Sérgio dos Santos Maia de Sousa (July 22, 1977 – May 5, 2013), simply known as Peu Sousa, was a Brazilian guitarist, songwriter and record producer. Biography Career Peu Sousa was born in Salvador, Bahia on July 22, 1977, and was the stepson of Novos Baianos member Luiz Galvão. He began his career in 1995 with the band Dois Sapos e Meio, which lasted until 1999, and later served as a live musician during performances of Carlinhos Brown and his stepfather. In 2003 he was invited by singer Pitty to be part of her live band; he stayed for one year, during which he was the guitarist of her debut ''Admirável Chip Novo'' and co-wrote the track "Déjà-Vu" off her 2005 album '' Anacrônico''. In 2005 he formed the band Trêmula, which was nominated for a MTV Video Music Brazil award. ''Total Request Live'' (known commonly as ''TRL'') was an American television program broadcast on MTV that premiered on September 14, 1998. TRL featured popular music videos played during its countdown, and was also used as a promotion tool by musicians, actors, and other celebrities to promote their newest works to the show's target teen demographic. During the original run of the program, ''TRL'' played the ten most requested music videos of the day, as voted by viewers via phone or online. The show generally aired Monday through Thursday for one hour, though the scheduling and length of the show fluctuated over the years. MTV Brasil was a Brazilian over-the-air television network owned by Grupo Abril focused on the youth. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements.
