Aditi Chauhan
Aditi Chauhan (born 20 November 1992) is an Indian professional association football, footballer who plays as a goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper for the India women's national football team, Indian national football team. Early life Born into a Rajput family, Aditi with her family moved to Delhi when she was nine years old. She did her schooling from Amity International School. As a child she participated in karate and basketball, even being selected for the youth state basketball team. She was convinced by her coach to attend trials for the football team as a goalkeeper. Chauhan was successful and eventually, appeared on the team for the Delhi women's football team U19 squad. Club career She attended Loughborough University, completing an MSc in Sports Management and represented their football team. AFC Women's Club Championship
The AFC Women's Club Championship is the top-tier women's football club competition in Asia. It involves the top clubs from countries affiliated with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Designed as pilot tournaments, the format will change in 2023 to an invitational tournament, and in 2024 replaced with the launch of the AFC Women's Champions League. The concept of an Asian women's club competition was first recommended in 2018. The inaugural championship in 2019 was held as a round-robin tournament among four teams from the east region. This was followed by the 2021 championship among four teams from the west region. 2021–22 Indian Women's League Season
The 2021–22 Indian Women's League season (also known as Hero Indian Women's League for sponsorship reasons) was the fifth season of the Indian Women's League, the top division women's professional football league in India. The qualifying round was held from 1–5 April at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi. The final round was scheduled to kick-off from mid-April in Bhubaneswar, Odisha and continue till the last week of May. The Indian Women's League, known as ''Hero Indian Women's League'' for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp is the women's top tier professional football league in Indian football. Founded in 2016, currently a total of 18 teams from across the country will participate in the league from 2022-23 Season. The competition was planned since 2014 and got established in 2016, with the first season starting from October 2016 in Cuttack. The 2019 South Asian Games, officially the XIII South Asian Games, was a major multi-sport event which was originally slated to be held from 9 to 18 March 2019 in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal. However, the dates were postponed and the event was held from 1–10 December 2019, coincidentally at the same time as the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. The 2016 South Asian Games, officially the XII South Asian Games, is a major multi-sport event which took place from 5 February to 16 February 2016 in Guwahati and Shillong, India. A total of 2,672 athletes competed in 226 events over 22 sports. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 2016 South Asian Games in Guwahati on 5 February 2016. India continued its dominance in the game's medal tally with a staggering 308 medals including 188 gold medals. The South Asian Games (SAG or SA Games), formerly known as the South Asian Federation Games (SAFG or SAF Games), is a quadrennial multi-sport event held among the athletes from South Asia. The governing body of these games is South Asia Olympic Council (SAOC), formed in 1983. The 2019 SAFF Women's Championship was the 5th edition of the SAFF Women's Championship, the biennial international women's football championship contested by the national teams of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). Initially, scheduled from 17 to 26 December 2018 in Sri Lanka, the competition was rescheduled, as Sri Lanka withdrew as hosts. Afterwards, it was scheduled to be held in 2019 from 12–22 March and to be hosted by Nepal. India is the current champions having defeated Nepal by 3–1 goals on 22 March 2019 in the final. 2016 SAFF Women's Championship
The 2016 SAFF Women's Championship was the 4th edition of the SAFF Women's Championship, the biennial international women's football championship contested by the national teams of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). The tournament began in India from 26 December 2016 and went on until 4 January 2017. The country was awarded hosting rights in January 2016. This was the first time India had hosted the SAFF Women's Championship. The defending champions coming into the tournament were India, who won the three previous tournaments. By the end of the tournament, India emerged as champions again, defeating Bangladesh in the final 3–1.
