Adina Kamien
Adina Kamien (; born April 7, 1971) is an American-born Israeli curator. She is senior curator and head of the Modern Art department at the Israel Museum, and a lecturer in modern art and curatorial studies at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem. She has curated numerous exhibitions in Israel, United States, Europe and Asia, and published widely on Dada and Surrealism. Biography Adina Kamien was born in New York. In 1980, she immigrated to Israel, attending Pelech high school in Jerusalem. Her mother, Anita Kamien, is founder and conductor of the Hebrew University orchestra. Her father, Roger Kamien, is a musicologist and the author of ''Music: An Appreciation.'' In 1989-1991, Kamien served in the Israel Defense Forces. In 1994, she graduated with honors from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a BA in Psychology and General Studies. She went on to earn MA degrees in Clinical Psychology and Art History in 2001. Modern Art
Modern art includes artistic work produced during the period extending roughly from the 1860s to the 1970s, and denotes the styles and philosophies of the art produced during that era. The term is usually associated with art in which the traditions of the past have been thrown aside in a spirit of experimentation. Modern artists experimented with new ways of seeing and with fresh ideas about the nature of materials and functions of art. A tendency away from the narrative, which was characteristic of the traditional arts, toward abstraction is characteristic of much modern art. More recent artistic production is often called contemporary art or Postmodern art. The Open University of Israel (, ''Ha-Universita ha-Ptuha'') is a distance education, distance-education university in Israel. It is one of ten public universities in Israel recognized by the Council of Higher Education (CHE). Open University teaching methods are based primarily on distance learning technologies, with the option of face-to-face tutorial sessions. Hungarian National Gallery
The Hungarian National Gallery (also known as Magyar Nemzeti Galéria, ), was established in 1957 as the national art museum. It is located in Buda Castle in Budapest, Hungary. Its collections cover Hungarian art in all genres, including the works of many nineteenth- and twentieth-century Hungarian artists who worked in Paris and other locations in the West. Cincinnati Art Museum
The Cincinnati Art Museum is an art museum in the Eden Park neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded in 1881, it was the first purpose-built art museum west of the Alleghenies, and is one of the oldest in the United States. Its collection of over 67,000 works spanning 6,000 years of human history make it one of the most comprehensive collections in the Midwest. Museum founders debated locating the museum in either Burnet Woods, Eden Park, or downtown Cincinnati on Washington Park.
