Jarabe de Palo (literally "Wooden Stick Syrup" or, by virtue of the Spanish expression "dar un jarabe de palo", i.e. a "hell of a beating") was a Spanish rock band founded in 1996. Going independent In 2008, the band announced they were going to leave their record company and go independent, founding their own record label Tronco Records. Niccolò Fabi
Niccolò Fabi (born 16 May 1968) is an Italian singer-songwriter. He rose to national fame after competing in the Newcomers' section of the Sanremo Music Festival 1997, receiving the Mia Martini Critics' Award for his entry "Capelli". As of 2021, he has released nine studio albums and a greatest hits album in Italy, as well as two compilation albums for the Hispanic market. During his career, Fabi also received two Lunezia Awards for the album "La cura del tempo" and for the song "Costruire". Early life Niccolò Fabi was born in Rome on 16 May 1968. His father, Claudio Fabi, was a record producer mainly active in the 1970s, when he was the artistic director of Lucio Battisti's label Numero Uno, producing artists including the Premiata Forneria Marconi and Alberto Fortis. Pau Donés
Pau Donés Cirera (11 October 19669 June 2020) was a Spanish songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist of the Barcelona-based band Jarabe de Palo (also named "Jarabedepalo"). Biography Donés grew up in Barcelona. He got his first guitar when he was 12 years old. Alongside his brother Marc, Pau Donés set up his first band: J. & Co. Band, and later on: Dentaduras Postizas. Donés split his schedule between performing concerts locally, working as an advertising agent, and studying economics. In 1996, Donés formed Jarabe de Palo. Their debut album, ''La Flaca'', became a commercial success in Spain after being featured in a TV advertisement. In 2008, he founded his own record company, Tronco Records. In 2017, he published the book and double disc ''50 palos'' coinciding with his 50th birthday. The album's release was accompanied by a tour of Spain and the United States.
