Adelaide Footy League
The Adelaide Footy League (AdFL), formerly known as the South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL), is a semi-professional Australian rules football competition based in Adelaide, South Australia. Comprising sixty-seven member clubs playing over one hundred and ten matches per week, the league is one of Australia's largest Australian rules football associations. The league currently provides competition across eight Senior divisions with Reserves grades, accompanied by a separate C grade competition, all from Divisions 1 to 7. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an Australian rules football playing field, oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the Football (ball)#Australian rules football, oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. Southern Football League (South Australia)
The Southern Football League (SFL) is an Australian rules football league in South Australia. The League was formed, as the Southern Football Association, in 1886. The league is a not-for-profit organisation. The league is a suburban competition which also acts as a feeder competition for the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) and in turn the Australian Football League (AFL). Edwardstown Football Club
The Edwardstown Football Club is an Australian rules football club first formed in 1919. In 1938, Edwardstown merged with the Black Forest Football Club from the Adelaide and Suburban Football Association but retained the name Edwardstown. For much of the first 60 years of its existence, the Edwardstown Football Club competed in the Glenelg-South Adelaide District Football League (previously known as the Glenelg-South-West District Football Association and the Mid-Southern Football Association), except for two seasons spent in the Adelaide and Suburban Football Association (1934–35). Salisbury North is a suburb in the City of Salisbury, part of the greater Adelaide conurbation in South Australia. It was built by the South Australian Housing Trust on a greenfield site in the early 1950s, mainly to house employees of the nearby Long Range Weapons Establishment. Woodville Football Club was an Australian rules football club that competed in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) from 1964 to 1990, when it merged in 1991 with the West Torrens Football Club to form the Woodville-West Torrens Eagles. The Tea Tree Gully District Football Club is an Australian rules football club located in Banksia Park, South Australia. Tea Tree Gully currently plays in the Adelaide Footy League, formerly known as the "South Australian Amateur Football League" (SAAFL). History The club was originally part of " Modbury F.C." in 1862, but it soon split apart from them to form their own institution. Tea Tree played its first game against the "Adelaidians" in a paddock near Modbury on 30 August 1862. It ended when the "Adelaidians" scored their second goal and won the game. The Saint Peter's Old Collegians Football Club is an amateur Australian rules football team in the South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL) in Australia. SPOC entered SAAFL in 1928 and ranks fourth in the number of seasons played. Flinders Park Football Club
The Flinders Park Football Club is an Australian sports club, mainly known for its Australian rules football team, which competes in the Adelaide Footy League. Other sports practised at the club are cricket, and netball. History The club was formed in 1927 as the Flinders Park Methodist Church Football Club when a meeting was held on 15 March 1927. The team played in the United Church Football Association in the B Division and wore a brown and blue guernsey, capping off their first season in history with a premiership win.
