Adel Awad (born November 7, 1962) is an Egyptian director of films and music videos. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema in Cairo in 1985. He comes from an artistic family. His father is comedian Mohamed Awad and his brother is actor Alaa Awad. He is married to actress Randa Awad. They have one daughter, actress Jamila Awad. He worked as an assistant director for the 1979 film ''Shafika and Metwali ''Chafika et Metwal'' ("Chafika et Metwal"," Shafika and Metwali "," Shafika wa Metwalli(y)" ("شفيقة و متولي") is a 1979 Egyptian drama/romance film starring Soad Hosny and Ahmed Zaki. Higher Institute Of Cinema
The Higher Institute Of Cinema (), also known as the Cairo Higher Institute of Cinema, is a film school in Cairo, Egypt. It is one of several institutes making up the Egyptian Academy of Arts. It is the oldest film school in the Middle East and Africa. History The Higher Institute of Cinema was founded in 1959 by government decree as one of several arts institutes affiliated to the Ministry of Culture. In 1969, the Academy of Arts was created by the government, and the Institute of Cinema became one several attached to the academy. In 1981, the academy underwent a reorganisation. In 2019, it was decided that a branch of the Academy of Arts would be established in Alexandria. This new academy will incorporate all of the educational facilities in Princess Faiqa Ahmed Fouad Palace. Jamila Awad (born 6 April 1991) is an Egyptian actress. She gained attention after her debut in the 2015 television series ''Under Control''. Early life Jamila Awad was born in Egypt and was raised in an artistic family. Her father is the film director Adel Awad, her mother is the Lebanese actress Randa Awad, and she is the granddaughter of the actor Mohamed Awad. She enrolled at the October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA), where she studied media, and also briefly studied political science at The British University in Egypt before ultimately pursuing media studies at MSA.
