Adam Rafferty (cyclist)
Adam Rafferty (born 4 October 2005) is an Irish cyclist who rides for UCI Continental team . Career In 2022, at the age of 16 years-old he rode in France for the Team 31 Jolly Cycles. He raced for the team again in 2023. In April 2023, he won the Lakeland Grand Prix after a 100 km solo breakaway. He finished in eighth place in the UCI Road World Championships – Junior men's time trial in Glasgow in August 2023. He signed for Hagens Berman Axeon ahead of the 2024 season. Riding for Ireland, he finished in tenth place at the 2024 UCI Road World Championships in Zurich in the men's under-23 time trial. Personal life From Dungannon in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, his younger sister Aliyah and older brother Darren are also professional cyclists. 2024 UCI Road World Championships
The 2024 UCI Road World Championships was the 97th edition of the UCI Road World Championships, the annual world championships for road bicycle racing. It was held between 22 and 29 September 2024 in Zürich, Switzerland, alongside the 2024 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships, UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships. A total of thirteen events were held, consisting of six road races, six individual time trials and a team time trial mixed relay (all of them finishing in Zürich in front of Sechseläutenplatz). The event was overshadowed by a fatality in competition, as 18-year-old Swiss rider Muriel Furrer died from injuries sustained in a race crash during the junior women's road race. The 2023 UCI Road World Championships were the 96th edition of the UCI Road World Championships, the annual world championships for road bicycle racing. There were held between 5 and 13 August 2023 in Scotland, as part of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships. The International Tour of Rhodes is an annual professional cycling stage race held in Rhodes, Greece. It was first held in 1987, but the second edition only took place in 1995.
