Adam Myerson
Adam Myerson (born May 9, 1972) is an American professional bicycle racer specializing in cyclo-cross and criterium racing. Adam is an active race promoter, series organizer, and coach; was the first American on the Union Cycliste Internationale Cyclo-cross commission (until 2009) as well as the AIOC-Cross Management Committee; and was the USA Cycling Collegiate National Cyclocross Champion in 1997. Myerson lives in Dorchester, Massachusetts, USA. Myerson has been a vegetarian since 1989, primarily for animal rights reasons. He was also a strict vegan from the early 2000s to 2006. Myerson has published several articles on being a meat-free endurance athlete. He is an outspoken anti-doping advocate as well. He is the owner and head coach of Cycle-Smart, Inc. Norwood, Massachusetts
Norwood is a town and census-designated place in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. Norwood is part of the Greater Boston area. As of the 2020 census, the population was 31,611. The Armed Forces Cycling Classic (formerly known as the Air Force Association Cycling Classic) refers to a weekend of road bicycle racing events held annually in June in Arlington, Virginia, United States. The weekend consists of several amateur events, and two professional races in the criterium format, the Clarendon Cup and the Crystal City Cup. The main sponsor for the race is Boeing. United States National Road Race Championships
The United States National Professional Road Race Championships began in 1985. They are run by the governing body, USA Cycling. Until 2006 the race was open to all nationalities, the first American to finish being named the winner and given a distinctive jersey. Since the championship in Greenville, South Carolina, in 2006, all riders have had to be American. Before 1985, only the amateur champions were named. From 1921 to 1964, the Amateur Bicycle League of America (ABLA) National Championships were held as an omnium of track-style events for Men, Women, and Juniors, rather than as a road race. United States National Criterium Championships
The United States National Criterium Championships are held annually and run by the national governing body, USA Cycling. The event has formerly been held at venues including Denver, Colorado, Downers Grove, Illinois, and Glencoe, Illinois. The 2015 edition of the race will be hosted by the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Formerly, the event allowed an international field, so the first rider from the United States who crossed the finish line was crowned the "United States National Criterium Champion" gaining the right to wear the national champion's jersey in subsequent criteriums for the following year.
