Adam Forde
Adam Forde (born 11 January 1982) is an Australian professional basketball coach who is the head coach of the Cairns Taipans of the National Basketball League (NBL). Between 2013 and 2019, Forde was an assistant coach with the Perth Wildcats and won four NBL championships. After a season as an assistant coach with the Sydney Kings in 2019–20, he served as their head coach during the 2020–21 season. In June 2021, he was appointed head coach of the Taipans. Forde has also coached in the State Basketball League (SBL), most notably guiding the East Perth Eagles men's team to their maiden championship in 2014. He also spent a season as a West Coast Waves assistant in the WNBL and briefly coached the Hawke's Bay Hawks of the National Basketball League (New Zealand), New Zealand NBL in 2021. Perth Wildcats
The Perth Wildcats are an Australian professional basketball team based in Perth, Western Australia. The Wildcats compete in the National Basketball League (Australia), National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at Perth Arena, RAC Arena, known colloquially as "The Jungle". After three years of strong lobbying to the NBL, the creation of a national basketball team in Perth finally occurred in 1982. The Westate Wildcats were established and played out of the 800-seat Perry Lakes Basketball Stadium. Women's National Basketball League
The Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) is the pre-eminent professional women's basketball league in Australia. It is currently composed of eight teams. The league was founded in 1981 and is the women's counterpart to the National Basketball League (NBL). Several WNBL teams have NBL counterparts. Cockburn Cougars
Cockburn Cougars is an NBL1 West club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 West. The club is a division of Cockburn Basketball Association (CBA), the major administrative basketball organisation in the City of Cockburn. The Cougars play their home games at Wally Hagan Stadium. The 2012 MSBL season was the 24th season of the Men's State Basketball League (SBL). The regular season began on Friday 16 March and ended on Saturday 28 July. The finals began on Saturday 4 August and ended on Saturday 1 September, when the Cockburn Cougars defeated the East Perth Eagles in the MSBL Grand Final. 2020–21 NBL Season
The 2020–21 NBL season was the 43rd season of the National Basketball League since its establishment in 1979. A total of nine teams contested in the 2020–21 season. The regular season was played between January and June 2021, followed by a post-season in June 2021. Australian broadcast rights to the season were held by SBS Viceland in the second year of a two-year deal. All games were available live and free on streaming platforms such as SBS On Demand. Will Weaver (basketball)
Will Weaver (born 1984) is an American professional basketball coach who is an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He previously was as an assistant coach for the Australian national basketball team. Coaching career Texas Longhorns (2007–2011) Whilst completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Texas at Austin, Weaver started getting involved in the university's basketball program from a coaching perspective. After helping run camps at the university, he was presented with the opportunity of a role in the university's Longhorn program. Trevor Gleeson (born 28 May 1968) is an Australian professional basketball coach who is an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). After starting his coaching career in his hometown of Warrnambool, Gleeson had his first stint in the National Basketball League (NBL) between 1997 and 2000 as an assistant coach with the Brisbane Bullets. Between 2000 and 2004, Gleeson coached in the Continental Basketball Association in the United States.
