Adael Amador
Adael Alexander Amador (born April 11, 2003) is a Dominican professional baseball shortstop for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB). Career Amador signed with the Colorado Rockies as an international free agent on July 2, 2019. He did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Amador made his professional debut in 2021 with the rookie–level Arizona Complex League Rockies, hitting .299/.394/.445 with four home runs and 24 runs batted in (RBI) over 47 games. He spent the 2022 season with the Single–A Fresno Grizzlies, hitting .292/.415/.445 with 15 home runs, 57 RBI, and 26 stolen bases across 115 games. Amador split the 2023 campaign between the ACL Rockies, High–A Spokane Indians, and Double–A Hartford Yard Goats. Shortstop, abbreviated SS, is the baseball positions, baseball or softball fielding position between second base, second and third base, which is considered to be among the Defensive spectrum, most demanding defensive positions. The Rule 5 draft is a Major League Baseball (MLB) player draft that occurs each year in December, at the annual Winter Meeting of general managers. The Rule 5 draft aims to prevent teams from stockpiling too many young players on their minor league affiliate teams when other organizations would be willing to have them play in the major leagues.
