Adaejah Hodge
Adaejah Hodge (born 13 May 2006) is a track and field athlete from the British Virgin Islands who competes as a Sprint (running), sprinter. Early life From Douglasville, Georgia, Hodge attended school at Montverde Academy. In 2022, she was named the Georgia High Schools Association Track and Field Athlete of the Year. In November 2023, she signed a letter of intent to run for the University of Georgia. Career 2022 In April 2022, she won the girls’ Under-17 100m, 200m and long jump at the Carifta Games in Jamaica. 2023 She ran a List of world under-20 records in athletics, U20 world record of 22.33 seconds for the 200m at the High School Championships in Boston, Massachusetts in March 2023. Carifta Games
The CARIFTA Games is an annual athletics competition founded by the Caribbean Free Trade Association (CARIFTA). The games were first held in 1972 and consist of track and field events including sprint races, hurdles, middle distance track events, jumping and throwing events, and relays. Kyron McMaster
Kyron Anthony McMaster (born 3 January 1997) is an athlete from the British Virgin Islands specialising in the 400 metres hurdles. He represented his country at the 2017 World Championships, where he finished in the top three in his heat but was disqualified for lane infringement. Earlier, he had won a bronze medal at the 2016 World U20 Championships. His personal best in the event is 47.08 seconds, set in finishing fourth in the final of the 2020 Olympic Games 400m hurdles, on 3 August 2021. This is the current national record. His coach, Xavier "Dag" Samuels died on 9 September 2017 during Hurricane Irma. McMaster won the British Virgin Islands' first ever Commonwealth Games medal (a gold) in the 400 m hurdles in 2018 and followed up with another gold at the Commonwealth Games winning at Birmingham 2022 in the same event. 2023 World Athletics Championships
The 2023 World Athletics Championships (), the nineteenth edition of the World Athletics Championships, were held from 19 to 27 August 2023 at the National Athletics Centre (Budapest), National Athletics Centre, in Budapest, Hungary. 2023 World Athletics Championships – Women's 200 Metres
The women's 200 metres at the 2023 World Athletics Championships was held at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest from 23 to 25 August 2022. Summary All the expected finalists qualified. The structure of the semis didn't make it easy. The third semi was loaded with the defending champion, Shericka Jackson, the newly crowned 100 metres champion, Sha'Carri Richardson, and perennial finalist, 2017 silver medalist Marie-Josée Ta Lou. With only two automatic qualifying spots, something had to give. Ta Lou had to get one of the time qualifying spots and was relegated to lane 2 in the final.
