Act (EP)
''Act'' (stylized in all caps) is the sixth Korean-language extended play (EP) (eighth overall) by South Korean singer and songwriter Kang Daniel. It was released on September 23, 2024, by ARA Inc. and distributed by Warner Music Group, Warner Music Korea. ''Act'' contains six tracks, including the EP's lead single, "Electric Shock". The EP debuted at number eight on South Korea's Circle Album Chart. Background and release In June 2024, Kang Daniel announced the termination of his recording contract and dissolution of the company he founded, Konnect Entertainment, after Kang filed a criminal complaint against the company's largest shareholder for embezzlement, forgery, and fraud, among other things. In late July, it was announced that Kang had signed a contract with a new agency, Artistic Round Alliance (ARA). Kang Daniel (; born Kang Eui-geon, December 10, 1996), stylized as KANGDANIEL, is a South Korean singer-songwriter, actor, television host, and businessman who rose to fame in early 2017 as the first-place winner of the Produce 101 Season 2, second season of reality competition series ''Produce 101''. He is a former member of the show's resulting boy group Wanna One that, at the time, was a major power player in the K-pop industry. Following the end of Wanna One's activities as a group, Kang took a six-month hiatus from the entertainment industry and took over management of his career. In mid-2019, he released his solo debut extended play (EP), ''Color on Me'', which was a commercial success that topped South Korea's Gaon Album Chart. The Circle Chart (), previously known as the Gaon Music Chart or the Gaon Chart (), tabulates the relative weekly popularity of songs and albums in South Korea. Founded in 2010, it is produced by the Korea Music Content Association and sponsored by South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
