The three plays that make up the ''Achilleis'' exist today only in fragments, but aspects of their overall content can be reconstructed with reasonable certainty. Like the ''Oresteia'' which forms "a narratively connected unit with a continuous plot," the trilogy had a unified focus, presumably treating the story of Achilles at Troy in a version comparable to the plot of the latter two-thirds of the ''Iliad''. In the ''Myrmidons'' (, ''Myrmidónes''), Achilles' refusal to fight after his quarrel with Agamemnon led to the death of Patroclus. In Greek mythology, Hector (; , ) was a Trojan prince, a hero and the greatest warrior for Troy during the Trojan War. He is a major character in Homer's ''Iliad'', where he leads the Trojans and their allies in the defense of Troy, killing countless Greek warriors. He is ultimately killed in single combat by the Greek hero Achilles, who later drags his dead body around the city of Troy behind his chariot. Etymology In Greek, is a derivative of the verb ἔχειν ''ékhein'', archaic form * ('to have' or 'to hold'), from Proto-Indo-European *'' seɡ́ʰ-'' ('to hold'). , or as found in Aeolic poetry, is also an epithet of Zeus in his capacity as 'he who holds verything together. Textual criticism is a branch of textual scholarship, philology, and literary criticism that is concerned with the identification of textual variants, or different versions, of either manuscripts (mss) or of printed books. Such texts may range in dates from the earliest writing in cuneiform, impressed on clay, for example, to multiple unpublished versions of a 21st-century author's work. Historically, scribes who were paid to copy documents may have been literate, but many were simply copyists, mimicking the shapes of letters without necessarily understanding what they meant. The ''Lycurgeia'' (, ''Lykoúrgeia'') is a lost tetralogy by the Athenian dramatist Aeschylus that concerned Thracian Lycurgus' conflict with Dionysus and its aftermath. The four plays that made up the ''Lycurgeia'' survive only in fragments quoted by ancient authors, and the reconstruction of much of their content is a matter of conjecture. In the '' Edoni'' (, ''Ēdōnoí''), Dionysus presumably arrived in Thrace where King Lycurgus attempted to suppress the worship of the new god. The second play, the '' Bassarids'' (, ''Bassarídes''), is supposed to have treated the death of Orpheus at the hands of Thracian women in the thrall of Dionysus. The Suppliants (Aeschylus)
''The Suppliants'' (, ''Hiketides''; Latin: ''Supplices''), also called ''The Suppliant Maidens'', ''The Suppliant Women'', or ''Supplices'' is a play by Aeschylus. It was probably first performed "only a few years previous to the '' Oresteia'', which was brought out 458 BC." ''Seven Against Thebes'' (, ''Hepta epi Thēbas''; ) is the third play in an Oedipus-themed trilogy produced by Aeschylus in 467 BC. The trilogy is sometimes referred to as the ''Oedipodea''.
