Accelerate (Jump5 Album)
''Accelerate'' is the fourth album by the Christian pop group Jump5. It was released on October 7, 2003. It charted at No. 150 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and at No. 8 on the Top Christian Albums charts. The album demonstrated the group's shift towards a pop rock sound, and was also the first album on which a member of the group had writing credits. Half of the album was covers, including "Do Ya" by Michelle Tumes, "Way of the World" by Don Philip and " Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves. The group's cover of Sister Sledge's " We Are Family" was later used as the theme for the Radio Disney Family ''Pledge Initiative''. The group's cover of " Shining Star" by Earth, Wind & Fire was part of The Lizzie McGuire Movie's soundtrack. Jump5
Jump5 was an American contemporary Christian music, Christian teen pop group active from 1999 until 2007. The group was made up of five members from Nashville: Brandon and Brittany Hargest, Chris Fedun, Lesley Moore and Libby Hodges. After Libby Hodges left in 2004, Natasha Noack joined the group on a temporary basis, but the group eventually set on with the four remaining members. In December 2007, the group separated. The group released five traditional studio albums together with two Christmas albums. Five of reached the top 20 of the ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' Top Christian Albums chart. History Jump5 released their Jump5 (album), self-titled debut album on August 14, 2001. The album was re-released twice, first with an additional bonus track, then with a cover of Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" after the September 11th attacks. Shining Star (Earth, Wind & Fire Song)
"Shining Star" is a song by Earth, Wind & Fire issued as a single in January 1975 on Columbia Records. The song rose to No. 1 on both the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart and the ''Billboard'' Hot Soul Songs chart, becoming their first single to top both charts (and only single to top the former). It has also been certified Gold in the US by the RIAA. Overview "Shining Star" was produced by Maurice White and composed by White, Larry Dunn and Philip Bailey. The song also came off EWF's 1975 album ''That's the Way of the World''. The concept for the song came to Maurice White while strolling at night during the band's recording of ''That's the Way of the World'' at Caribou Ranch. Maurice White
Maurice White (December 19, 1941 – February 4, 2016) was an American singer, musician, songwriter, and record producer. He was best known as the founder, leader, main songwriter, and producer of the band Earth, Wind & Fire, and served as the band's co-lead singer with Philip Bailey. Philip Bailey
Philip James Bailey (born May 8, 1951) is an American R&B, soul, gospel and funk singer, songwriter and percussionist, best known as an early member and one of the two lead singers (along with group founder Maurice White) of the band Earth, Wind & Fire. Noted for his four-octave vocal range and distinctive falsetto register, Bailey has won seven Grammy Awards. Matthew Gerrard is a Canadian record producer and songwriter. Biography Gerrard grew up in Don Mills, a suburb of Toronto's north-east end. He attended George S. Henry Secondary School where he played trombone in band, later playing bass in a school-based 5-piece jazz fusion combo called Nemesis Fusion. Nemesis Fusion competed in two Canadian stage band festivals earning silver in 1982 and won the competition the following year when Gerrard wrote the group's original material. Kimberley Charles Rew (born 3 December 1951) is an English rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. He is best known as a member of Katrina and the Waves from 1981 to 1999 and of Robyn Hitchcock's Soft Boys from 1978 to 1981.
