Andy Kuntz
Andy Kuntz (born 20 November 1962) is a German progressive metal singer best known for his work with the band Vanden Plas. He has also participated in a production of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Background Kuntz was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Since age 14, he has been interested in singing and he always wanted to be a "big rock star". When he was a teenager, he was in a garage punk rock band called Rock Zock. He has said his main influences are Kansas, Thin Lizzy, Van Halen, Genesis, Magnum, and Sting. Kuntz is a first cousin of former German national association football player Stefan Kuntz. Formation of Vanden Plas When Kuntz was in school, drummer Andreas Lill heard Kuntz singing in his punk band, Rock Zock. Kuntz did not like the kind of music that Rock Zock was playing, and Lill asked him to sing for his band, which was called Exodus at the time. Abydos (Hellespont)
Abydos (, ) was an ancient city and bishopric in Mysia. It was located at the Nara Burnu promontory on the Asian coast of the Dardanelles, Hellespont (the straits of Dardanelles), opposite the ancient city of Sestos, and near the city of Çanakkale in Turkey. Abydos was founded in at the most narrow point in the straits, and thus was one of the main crossing points between Europe and Asia, until its replacement by the crossing between Lampsacus and Gelibolu, Kallipolis in the 13th century, and the abandonment of Abydos in the early 14th century. In Greek mythology, Abydos is presented in the myth of Hero and Leander as the home of Leander. The city is also mentioned in ''Rodanthe and Dosikles'', a novel written by Theodore Prodromos, a 12th-century writer, in which Dosikles kidnaps Rodanthe at Abydos. Mysia
Mysia (UK , US or ; ; ; ) was a region in the northwest of ancient Asia Minor (Anatolia, Asian part of modern Turkey). It was located on the south coast of the Sea of Marmara. It was bounded by Bithynia on the east, Phrygia on the southeast, Lydia on the south, Aeolis on the southwest, Troad on the west, and the Propontis on the north. In ancient times it was inhabited by the Mysians, Phrygians, Aeolians, Aeolian Greeks and other groups. Geography The precise limits of Mysia are difficult to assign. Anatolia (), also known as Asia Minor, is a peninsula in West Asia that makes up the majority of the land area of Turkey. Abydos ( or ; Sahidic ') is one of the oldest cities of ancient Egypt, and also of the Ta-wer, eighth Nome (Egypt), nome in Upper Egypt. Abydos Station
Abydos Station is a pastoral lease and cattle station located between Tom Price and Marble Bar and approximately 126 km south of Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The station occupies an area of , and in 1946 had of fencing and the property was divided into 18 paddocks. The property also had 28 wells equipped with mills and a homestead and shearing shed. The Turner River flows through a portion of Abydos, and one of the neighbouring properties is Redcliffs Station. The traditional owners of the area are the Kariyarra peoples, who maintain a strong connection with country at Abydos and the nearby Yandeyarra Community. In 1912 the station was owned by Hall and Hester and was shipping bullocks out of Roebourne. The rationing officer at the station in 1930 was Frank Leeds; the station was in debt to the tune of 13,000 pounds at the time.
