Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (1888–1958), popularly known as Maulana Azad, was an Indian independence activist, scholar and politician, who served as the first Minister of Education of India. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad
Abul Kalam Ghulam Muhiyuddin (11 November 188822 February 1958), better known as Maulana Azad and sometimes referred as Abul Kalam Azad, was an Indian politician, writer and activist of the Indian independence movement. A senior leader of the Indian National Congress, following India's independence, he became the first Minister of Education in the Indian government. His contribution to establishing the education foundation in India is recognised by celebrating his birthday as National Education Day across India. As a young man, Azad composed poetry in Urdu, as well as treatises on religion and philosophy. He rose to prominence through his work as a journalist, publishing works critical of the British Raj and espousing the causes of Indian nationalism. AK Azad Khan is a physician and a social worker from Bangladesh. In 2018, he was awarded the Independence Award for his contributions in social-welfare. Abul Kalam Azad is a Bangladeshi businessman, founder and managing director of Azad Products, who was the president of the Bangladesh Printing Product Association. Early life Azad was born Chandpur District and was raised in Shariatpur District. He worked in Dhaka as a lodging tutor. Career Azad started his business by buying posters from Old Dhaka and selling them on the streets in 1982.
