Abu Bakr Al-Nasr
Abu Bakr al-Nasr, nom de guerre ''L'Égyptien'', was an Egyptian jihadist who served as the emir of the Malian jihadist group Al-Mourabitoun (militant group), Al-Mourabitoun from its foundation in 2013 until his death in 2014. Biography al-Nasr was born in Egypt at an unknown date. He took part in the War in Afghanistan (2001–2021), war in Afghanistan fighting for the Taliban. In 2011, he fled to Libya when the Libyan civil war (2011), Libyan civil war broke out and established a training camp for al-Qaeda in Benghazi. al-Nasr met with Mokhtar Belmokhtar in the fall of 2011 in Libya, being recruited to northern Mali with him where Belmokhtar was the head of a katiba of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb. Mokhtar Belmokhtar
Mokhtar Belmokhtar (; ;pronounced in Algerian Arabic as 1 June 1972 – November 2016), also known as Khalid Abu al-Abbas, the One-Eyed, Nelson, and the Uncatchable, was an Algerian leader of the group Al-Murabitoun, former military commander of Al-Qaeda in the Maghreb, smuggler and weapons dealer. He was twice convicted and sentenced to death ''in absentia'' under separate charges in Algerian courts: in 2007 for terrorism and in 2008 for murder. Egyptian Muslims
Islam is the dominant religion in Egypt, with approximately 94.9% of Egyptians identifying as Muslims. The majority of Egyptian Muslims are adherents of Sunni Islam, while a small minority adhere to Shia Islam. Since 1980, Islam has served as Egypt's state religion. Due to the lack of a religious census, owing to the alleged undercounting of non-Muslim minorities in Egyptian censuses, the actual percentage of Muslims is unknown; the percentage of Egyptian Christians, who are the second-largest religious group in the country, is estimated to be 5.1% of the population. Ayman Al-Zawahiri
Ayman Mohammed Rabie al-Zawahiri (; 19 June 195131 July 2022) was an Egyptian-born pan-Islamism, pan-Islamist militant and physician who served as the second general emir of al-Qaeda from June 2011 until Killing of Ayman al-Zawahiri, his death in July 2022. He is best known for being one of the main orchestrators of the September 11 attacks. Al-Zawahiri graduated from Cairo University with a degree in medicine and a master's degree in surgery and was a surgeon by profession. He became a leading figure in the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, an Egyptian Islamism, Islamist organization, and eventually attained the rank of emir.
