Abu Amsha
Mohammed al-Jassem (, born in 1987, Jousa, Hama Governorate), also known by his ''nom de guerre'' Abu Amsha () is a Syrian Army General commanding the 25th Division. He had previously served as the leader of the Sultan Suleiman Shah Division, a faction within the Turkish-supported group known as the Syrian National Army. Abu Amsha gained prominence during the Syrian civil war after joining several opposition military groups. He also became well-known in March 2025, after participating in the 2025 massacres of Syrian Alawites, in which he participated as the commander of the Hama division within the newly re-formed Syrian Army under the command of Murhaf Abu Qasra. War Crimes In The Syrian Civil War
War crimes in the Syrian civil war have been numerous and serious. A United Nations report published in August 2014 stated that "the conduct of the warring parties in the Syrian Arab Republic has caused civilians immeasurable suffering". Another UN report released in 2015 stated that the war has been "characterized by a complete lack of adherence to the norms of international law" and that "civilians have borne the brunt of the suffering inflicted by the warring parties". Various countries have prosecuted several war criminals for a limited number of atrocities committed during the Syrian civil war. Afrin, Syria
Afrin; ar, عفرين, Ifrīn. is a city in northern Syria. In the Afrin District, it is part of the Aleppo Governorate. The total population of the district was recorded at 172,095 people, of whom 36,562 lived in the town of Afrin itself. The town and district are named after the Afrin River. Sultan Murad Division
The Sultan Murad Division ( ar, فرقة السلطان مراد; ''Firqat al-Sultan Murad'', tr, Sultan Murat Tümeni) is an armed rebel group in the Syrian Civil War, created around a Syrian Turkmen identity.
