Timothy James Abromaitis (born September 17, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for CB 1939 Canarias, Lenovo Tenerife of the Spanish Liga ACB. He played college basketball at Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's basketball, Notre Dame. Early life Abromaitis was born in Waterbury, Connecticut and grew up in Farmington, Connecticut, Unionville, Connecticut. He graduated from Farmington High School (Connecticut), Farmington High School. College career Abromaitis, a 6'8" Forward (basketball), forward, chose to play college basketball at Notre Dame and enrolled in 2007. He played sparingly as a freshman in 2007–08 Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's basketball team, 2007–08, then sat out his sophomore year to develop. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish Men's Basketball team is the college basketball, intercollegiate men's basketball program representing the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, United States. The program competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference of NCAA Division I. On September 12, 2012, Notre Dame announced they would be moving to the Atlantic Coast Conference; they joined the conference on July 1, 2013. The school holds two retroactively awarded national championships in basketball from the Helms Foundation: for the 1927 (19–1 overall record) and 1936 (22–2–1 overall record) seasons. 2017 FIBA Intercontinental Cup
The 2017 FIBA Intercontinental Cup was the 27th edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup. The cup winner was decided through one game, which was held on September 24, 2017. It was contested by the 2017 FIBA Americas League champions, Guaros de Lara, and the 2017 FIBA Champions League champions, Iberostar Tenerife. The title game was held at the Santiago Martín, in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. Champions of the EuroLeague were not allowed to participate by FIBA, due to the EuroLeague's dispute with FIBA. Iberostar Tenerife won the game, and captured its first FIBA Intercontinental Cup title. Mike Tobey was named the FIBA Intercontinental Cup Most Valuable Player. 2018–19 Basketball Champions League
The 2018–19 Basketball Champions League was the third season of the Basketball Champions League (BCL), a European-wide professional basketball competition for clubs, that was launched by FIBA. The competition began in September 2018, with the qualifying rounds, and concluded in May 2019. It featured 19 domestic champions including two from France and Italy. The Final Four was held in the Sportpaleis in Antwerp on 3 and 5 May 2019. Virtus Bologna won its first BCL championship. As such, the team qualified for the 2020 FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Farmington High School is a public high school in Farmington, Connecticut that serves grades 9-12. In Newsweek's 2005 poll, FHS was ranked #1 in Connecticut and #271 in the nation, scoring high on both the challenge index and the equity and excellence index.
