Abreham Cherkos
Abreham Cherkos Feleke ( Amharic: አብረሃም ቸርቆስ ፈለቀ; born 23 September 1989) is an Ethiopian professional long-distance runner. A former track specialist, he now competes in road running events including the marathon. He was the 2005 World Youth Champion in the 3000 m and upgraded to a world junior silver medal the next year over 5000 m. He took bronze at the 2006 IAAF World Athletics Final and represented Ethiopia at the 2007 World Championships in Athletics. He won his first major senior medal (a bronze) at the 2008 IAAF World Indoor Championships. He became world junior champion in 2008 and also made his Olympic debut, finishing fifth at the 2008 Beijing Games. After a year out in 2009, he made his marathon debut in 2010 at the Amsterdam Marathon, setting a best of 2:07:29. Isaac Kiprono Songok (born 25 April 1984 in Kaptel, Nandi District) is a Kenyan long-distance runner. He went St. Patrick's High School in Iten, famous for producing runners. In 2001 he set a new 2000 m World Junior Record (4:56.86) in Berlin and became World Youth Champion at 1500 metres. He is best known for winning the silver medal in the short race at the 2006 World Cross Country Championships. He is managed by James Templeton and coached by Colm O'Connell. Kenenisa Bekele ( om, Qananiisaa baqqalaa; am, ቀነኒሳ በቀለ; born 13 June 1982) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. He was the world record holder in both the 5000-metre and 10000-metre from 2004 (5,000m) and 2005 (10,000m) until 2020. He won the gold medal in both the 5000 m and 10,000 m events at the 2008 Summer Olympics. At the 2004 Olympics, he won the gold medal in the 10,000 m and the silver medal in the 5000 m. Bislett Stadium ( no, Bislett stadion) is a sports stadium in Oslo, Norway. Bislett is Norway's most well known sports arena internationally, with 15 speed skating world records and more than 50 track and field world records having been set here. Abraham Kosgei Chebii (born 23 December 1979 in Kaptabuk, Marakwet District) is a former Kenyan runner who specialized in the 5000 metres. His personal best time is 12:52.99 minutes, achieved in June 2003 in Oslo. Career He represented Kenya at the 2004 Athens Olympics and reached the final but failed to finish the race.
