Abraham Sie
Louis Cyrille Jean Benoît She (31 August 1999 – 6 April 2022), better known as Abraham Sie, was an Ivorian basketball player. During his career he played for the Ivory Coast national basketball team. Club career Sie was a former football player and taekwondo fighter, he was the Ivorian taekwondo champion twice before he started playing basketball. He played for the Ivorian side Abidjan Basket Club, he participated in the Basketball Africa League qualifiers where he averaged 14.33 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists. In October 2021, Sie signed with DUC Dakar, the champions of Senegal. Ivorian national team Sie represented the Ivory Coast national basketball team. He was included in the Ivorian team roster for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup, but he did not play a match based on the decision of the coach. This is a list of all notable basketball players who died while on a team roster, as a free agent, or while not rostered, but still seeking work, playing for a national team, or otherwise not retired. Many of them died in accidents such as car or plane crashes. Some suffered sudden cardiac death, which has a higher incidence in basketball among young athletes. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. They effectively "run" the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. The Ligue d'Or (in English: Golden League), formerly known as the Ivorian Basketball Championship, is the premier basketball league for clubs in Ivory Coast. The league consist out of twelve teams as of the 2024 season. The most successful team in the league's history is ABC Fighters, who have won a record 22 titles.
