Abraham Guillén
Abraham Guillén Sanz (13 March 1913 – 1 August 1993), was a Spanish author, economist, and political theorist. He was a veteran of the Spanish Civil War, influenced by anarchism, and developed a theory of urban guerrilla warfare that was taken up by the Tupamaros in Uruguay. Biography Abraham Guillén Sanz was born into a family of peasants on 13 March 1913, in the Castilian village of Corduente. Guillén became a neo-Marxist, synthesising Karl Marx's economic theory with the direct action advocated by Mikhail Bakunin. He never joined a political party, as he believed that neither the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) nor the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) were truly Marxist organisations, instead labelling them as "opportunists". Communist Party Of Spain
The Communist Party of Spain (; PCE) is a communist party that, since 1986, has been part of the United Left coalition, which is currently part of Sumar. Two of its politicians are Spanish government ministers: Yolanda Díaz (Minister of Labour and Social Economy) and Sira Rego (Minister of Youth and Children). The PCE was founded by 1921, after a split in the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (; PSOE). The PCE was founded by those who opposed the social democratic wing of the PSOE, because the social democrat wing did not support the PSOE's integration in the Communist International founded by Vladimir Lenin two years prior. Battle Of Guadalajara
The Battle of Guadalajara (March 8–23, 1937) saw the victory of the Spanish Republican Army (''Ejército Popular Republicano'', or EPR) and of the International Brigades over the Italian and Nationalist forces attempting to encircle Madrid during the Spanish Civil War. The Nationalist forces involved in the Battle of Guadalajara were primarily the Italian Corps of Volunteer Troops (''Corpo Truppe Volontarie'', or CTV). The battle opened with an Italian offensive on 8 March. This offensive was halted by 11 March. Between 12 and 14 March, renewed Italian attacks were supported by Spanish Nationalist units. These were halted too. On 15 March, a Republican counter-offensive was prepared. The Republicans successfully launched their counter-offensive from 18–23 March.
