Above And Beyond (band)
Above & Beyond are an electronic music group consisting of English musicians/DJs Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Finnish musician/DJ Paavo Siljamäki. Formed in 2000, they are the owners of London-based electronic dance music labels Anjunabeats, Anjunadeep and Anjunachill, and also host a weekly radio show titled ''Group Therapy Radio''. The trio has been consistently ranked among ''DJ Magazine's'' Top 100 DJs Poll; coming at their highest position of No. 4 in 2008, with their most recent position of No. 53 in 2024. Tony McGuinness (English Musician)
Anthony Patrick James McGuinness (born April 23, 1969) is a British trance musician. He is known for being in the electronic music group Above & Beyond. He is also a guitarist/songwriter with cult indie band Sad Lovers & Giants. Biography Tony McGuinness plays guitar with English indie band Sad Lovers & Giants, appearing on three albums between 1988 and 2002 and is still an active member having toured US and Europe regularly with them since 2009. McGuinness was an advertising executive working for Bosse, Massimi & Podia (BMP) until, in 1989, he joined the Warner Music Group as a marketing specialist. He won awards for his campaigns for Madonna, R.E.M., Mike Oldfield, and Simply Red. While working at Warner, McGuinness shifted away from alternative rock towards electronic dance music. Pete Tong
Peter Michael Tong (born 30 July 1960) is an English DJ who works for BBC Radio 1. He is the host of programmes such as '' Essential Mix'' and '' Essential Selection'' on the radio service, which can be heard through Internet radio streams, for his record label FFRR Records and for his own performances at nightclubs and music festivals. Tong has also worked as a record producer and is regarded as the "global ambassador for electronic music." Zoë Johnston
Zoë Johnston is a Grammy-nominated British singer and songwriter, born in Nottingham, England. Tilt is an English group of electronic record producers, composed of Mick Park and Nic Britton. Formed in Coventry, by Mick Park and Mick Wilson in 1990, they became residents at The Eclipse, the first legal all night rave venue in the UK. Their time at Eclipse was inspirational, playing alongside Sasha, and motivating the boys to produce their own musical material. The Space Brothers are a British trance music duo comprising Richard 'Ricky' Louis Simmonds and Stephen Christopher Jones, noted for producing under a variety of pseudonyms such as Chakra, Lustral, Ascension, Essence, Ultra High, Lamai and The Realm. A dubplate is an acetate disc usually of 10 inches diameter, traditionally used by Recording studio, studios to test recordings prior to Audio mastering, mastering for the subsequent pressing of a vinyl record, but pioneered by reggae Reggae sound system, sound systems as a way to play exclusive music. They would later become an important facet of the jungle music, jungle/drum and bass, UK garage, Grime (music genre), grime and dubstep music scenes.
