Aboomoslem
Football Club Aboomoslem Khorasan ( fa, باشگاه فوتبال ابومسلم خراسان, ''Bashgah-e Futbal-e Abumislâm-e Xerasan''), commonly known as Aboomoslem, is an Iranian football club based in Mashhad, Razavi Khorasan, that competes in the League 3. The club was founded in 1970 and is named after Persian general of Abbasid Era, Abu Muslim, who was commander of the Abbasid Revolution and led the Abbasid Revolution that toppled the Umayyad dynasty. The football team plays its home games at the Samen Stadium which has a seating capacity of 27,000. The club is owned and supported by Mohammad Reza Abbasi. Aboomoslem is the oldest existing football club in Mashhad and has a large history in Khorasan football. It is one of the most supported clubs in Khorasan football, having won four League 2 trophies, three Khorasan League titles, and one final participation in the Hazfi Cup. Mashhad Derby
The Mashhad derby ( fa, شهرآورد مشهد), also known as the Razavi Khorasan derby ( fa, شهرآورد خراسان رضوی), is a football local derby match between the four most popular clubs from Mashhad: Aboomoslem and Payam and Siah Jamegan and Padideh. In the 1980s and early 1990s, it was Iran's second most important derby after the Tehran derby. It has lost its status to more popular derbies such as Isfahan derby, Ahwaz derby, Tabriz derby, Gilan derby and Shiraz derby. History Historically, the top two football clubs from Mashhad, F.C. Khodadad Azizi
Khodadad Azizi ( fa, خداداد عزیزی; born 22 June 1971) is an Iranian football coach and former player who played as a striker. Club career After playing for a few clubs in Iran and following his performance in Asia, he moved to Germany in 1997 to play for 1. FC Köln. Azizi, along with his Iranian national teammates Ali Daei and Karim Bagheri, were among the first Iranians to enter the Bundesliga. Having played for three seasons in 1. FC Köln, he signed a contract with California-based club San Jose Earthquakes, became the second Iranian player to play in the United States' Major League Soccer. Mojtaba Jabari
Mojtaba Jabbari ( fa, مجتبی جباری, ; born June 16, 1983 in Robat Karim) is a retired Iranian football player who played mostly for Esteghlal and the Iranian national team as an attacking midfielder. Club career Early years Due to his father's career as an employee for Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, Jabbari began his club football playing for Rah Ahan. League 2 (Iran)
Iranian football's 2nd division ( fa, ليگ دسته دوم ایران) is the third-highest football division overall in the Iranian football league system. Before 2001, the 2nd division league was the second-highest division in Iranian football league system, however, this was changed to third-highest division when Iran's football structure officially became professional. The league consists of two, fourteen team groups who play each other twice in a home and away format. The first and second placed teams in each group are automatically promoted to the Azadegan League. The bottom two teams in both groups are automatically relegated to the 3rd division. If teams in the promotion or relegation spots are tied in terms of points, a home and away series will be played. The team with the best aggregate score will either avoid relegation or win promotion. Andranik Timotian-Samarani, commonly known as Andranik "Ando" Teymourian ( hy, Անդրանիկ Թէյմուրեան; fa, آندرانيک تیموریان, Ândrânik Teymuryân, born 6 March 1983) is an Iranian retired professional footballer who usually played as a defensive midfielder, but could also play as a wide midfielder. Gholam Reza Enayati ( fa, غلام رضا عنايتى ; born 23 September 1976) is an Iranian football manager and former player. He is a former member of Iran national football team. Enayati played as a striker and is the all-time top goalscorer in the Persian Gulf Pro League. Club career Reza Enayati started out his professional career playing for his hometown club Aboomoslem. He had a number of impressive seasons there, especially the 2001–02 season where he finished as the league's top goalscorer and was called up to the national team. Hazfi Cup
Hazfi Cup (Jām-e Hazfi; ) is the Iranian football knockout cup competition, run by the Iranian Football Federation. The Iranian football league was not held during the 1980s, hence the winner of Hazfi Cup represented Iran in the Asian Club Championship. After the revive of the league system, the champion of Iranian league qualified for Asian Club Championship and the winner of Hazfi Cup ran for Asian Cup Winners' Cup. However, the Asian Cup Winners' Cup merged with the Asian Champions Cup in 2002–03 to form the AFC Champions League and Iran had been initially given two (and later four) slots in this competitions. Mahmood Ebrahimzadeh ( fa, محمود ابراهيم زاده; born December 22, 1957) is a retired Iranian footballer and now football coach. In 1980, during the Iran–Iraq War, he left Iran and went to Germany. Heshmatollah Mohajerani ( fa, , born 13 December 1939) is a retired Iranian association football midfielder and manager. Early life and playing career Mohajerani was born to Asadoolah Mohajerani and Leila Nassiri in a family of six siblings. After years, his family moved to Tehran and his older brothers began playing football in Taj's youth teams.
