Abilene Christian Wildcats Baseball
The Abilene Christian Wildcats baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas, United States. The team is a member of the Western Athletic Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The team plays its home games at Crutcher Scott Field in Abilene, Texas. The Wildcats are currently coached by Rick McCarty. Crutcher Scott Field Crutcher Scott Field is a 4,000-seat baseball stadium located in Abilene, Texas. Built between 1990 and 1991, it hosted the Abilene Prairie Dogs from 1995 to 1999 and is the current home of the Abilene Christian Wildcats baseball team. Located on the campus of Abilene Christian University. After the conclusion of the 2024 season the stadium began phase 1 of a multi phase renovation. Western Athletic Conference
The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is an NCAA Division I conference. The WAC covers a broad expanse of the Western United States with member institutions located in Arizona, California, Texas, Utah and Washington (state), Washington. Due to most of the conference's College football, football-playing members leaving the WAC for other affiliations, the conference discontinued football as a sponsored sport after the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season, 2012–13 season, left the NCAA's NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly known as Division I-A) and became one of the NCAA's eleven Division I non-football conferences. The 2017 Major League Baseball draft began on June 12, 2017. The draft assigned amateur baseball players to MLB teams. The first 36 picks, including the first round and compensatory picks, were broadcast on MLB Network on June 12, while the remainder of the draft was live streamed on MLB.com on June 13 and 14. The Texas Rangers are an American professional baseball team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
