Abildsø IL
Abildsø Idrettslag is a sports club in the suburb of Abildsø, Oslo. The sports club has a membership of around 400. History Abildsø Idrettslag was formed in September 1931, and competed in the Arbeidernes Idrettsforbund. The club had cycling, athletics, bandy, skiing, handball, and football on the programme. In the 1970s and 1980s, the ski team folded. The last decade has seen the football team become the focus of the club. In the 2001 season, the club had 21 teams competing. In addition, they had 7 teams run jointly with other clubs. Football The club owns a large football field, and a club house with four changing rooms at Østensjøvannet. There are also two training pitches, two seven-a-side pitches, and two pitches for the women's side, as well as an all-weather pitch. Work began on a new all-weather pitch at Abildsø on 4 May 2009. Abildsø () is a neighborhood in the borough Østensjø in Oslo, Norway. It is located south of Manglerud and Ryen, east of Lambertseter, north of Langerud and east of Bøler the lake Østensjøvannet. During the late 1800s, Abildsø was the site of Minna og Frederik Husgjerningsskole, a school for young farm girls. Oslo
Oslo ( or ; ) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The Workers' Federation of Sports (), often just called the AIF, was a sporting organization in Norway (mostly out of Norway) between 1924 and 1946.Heinemann, Klaus. Østensjøvannet () is a lake located in the Østensjø borough in Oslo, Norway. It is well known for the wide variety of birds and other wildlife that can be found there. It is currently a wildlife preserve, though urban development posed a serious threat to the lake and its environs during the 1980s and early 1990s. Etymology Østensjøvannet ("Østensjø lake") is named after the Østensjø farm (old Norse ''Austansjór''). The first element is ''austan'' 'east of', and the last element is ''sjór'' 'sea, lake'. Norwegian Second Division
The Norwegian Second Division, also called 2. divisjon and often referred to as PostNord-ligaen for sponsorship reasons, is the third-highest level of the Norwegian football league system. There are 28 teams divided into two groups, and at the end of the season the winner of each group earns promotion to the second-highest division, 1. divisjon. The teams finishing in second place in their respective group will qualify for the promotion play-offs, where they will face each other. The winner will play against the 14th placed team in 1. divisjon for promotion. The bottom three teams in each group are relegated to 3. divisjon. 2. divisjon is the highest league a reserve team can participate in, and only reserve teams from the Eliteserien clubs (first tier) are allowed to enter. The 1999 2. divisjon was the third highest football league for men in Norway. 22 games were played in 8 groups, with 3 points given for wins and 1 for draws. Hamarkameratene, Sandefjord, Strindheim and Tromsdalen were promoted to the First Division through playoffs against the other 4 group winners.
