AberFest
AberFest is a Celtic cultural festival celebrating all things Cornish and Breton that takes place every second year in Cornwall, UK, around Easter. The AberFest Festival alternates with the Breizh – Kernow Festival which is held in Brandivy or Bignan in Brittany, alternating between those two Breton locations. Both festivals are unusual in that the main focus of the events is on families and individuals from one country staying with families and individuals from the other, against a wide background of cultural activities. An AberFest was last held at Easter 2018. The next AberFest will be in 2022. Background Cornwall and Brittany have Celtic links going back centuries and have closely related Celtic languages and many other traditions that are practised in both countries. Brandivy
Brandivy (; br, Brandevi) is a commune in the Morbihan department of Brittany in northwestern France. Population Inhabitants of Brandivy are called in French ''Brandivyens''. Breizh-Kernow Festival Brandivy is notable for its "Breizh – Kernow Festival" (Breizh = Brittany in Breton; Kernow = Cornwall, United Kingdom, in the Cornish language) which takes place at Easter. The Festival started in 1987 taking place most years until 2002 when the festival started to alternate with the "AberFest" festival in Cornwall. A Cornish Assembly ( kw, Senedh Kernow) is a proposed devolved law-making assembly for Cornwall along the lines of the Scottish Parliament, the Senedd (Welsh Parliament) and the Northern Ireland Assembly in the United Kingdom. The campaign for Cornish devolution began in 2000 with the founding of the Cornish Constitutional Convention, a cross-party, cross-sector association that campaigns for devolution to Cornwall.
