Abdullah Rasheed (1952) () from Male, Maldives served as the Regional Director of the Asia-Pacific Region of the World Scout Bureau, and serves as a Consultant at World Scout Bureau Kuala Lumpur Office. Asia-Pacific Scout Region (World Organization Of The Scout Movement)
The Asia-Pacific Scout Region is one of the five regions of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, with a World Scout Bureau Regional Support Center based in Makati, Philippines. The Asia-Pacific Region services Scouting in the land area of Asia, from Russia, parts of Central Asia, and the bulk of the Pacific Basin, with the exception of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands and Palau, which are under the Interamerican Region by way of the Aloha Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM ) is the largest and, after the Order of World Scouts (formed in 1911), is the second-oldest international organization in the Scout Movement, having been established in 1922. It has 176 members. These members are national scout organizations that founded WOSM or have subsequently been recognised by WOSM, which collectively have around 43 million participants. Its operational headquarters is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, although it is legally based in Geneva, Switzerland. WOSM's stated mission is "to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Scout Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society". International Scout And Guide Fellowship
The International Scout and Guide Fellowship (ISGF) is a worldwide organization of adults in support of Scouting and Girl Guides, Guiding. The International Scout and Guide Fellowship is open to former members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), and to other adults who wish to support Scouting. It was created in 1953 under the name of ''International Fellowship of Former Scouts and Guides'' (''IFOFSAG''). ISGF is supported by WOSM and WAGGGS, and it has members in 75 countries presently. Majeediyya School
Majeediyya School () is the first Maldivian government school, located in Malé, Maldives. It only accepted boys until the introduction of Primary Education in 2010, which allowed girls to attend the school as well. The English medium is followed throughout all subjects, with the exception of Dhivehi and Islam. History Majeediyya School was founded in April 19, 1927, under the name Madhrasathul Salaahiyyaa. The school name was changed to Madhrasathul Saniyyathul Hukoomathul Mahaldheebiyya in 1928. The first principal of the school was Husain Salahuddin. Mohamed Amin Didi was Principal from 1946 to 1953 and it was during this time that the school was renamed Madhrasathul Majeediyya. The first GCE O Level started in 1962. The school started providing coeducation in 2011 and had its second enrollment of grade 1 students. The Scout Association Of Maldives
Scouting was introduced to the Maldives in 1956, according to the National Centre for Linguistic and Historical Research. Initially, this Scouting was not carried out as a structured organization and very little is known about the history of Scouting of that period. Along with the introduction of English medium education in Malé, various co-curricular activities also had its beginning. In May 1961, the First Malé Scout Group was formed in Majeediyya School. The Group began with Cub Scouting and later in the same year the junior Scout section began. In 1963, the Scout Group was registered at The Boy Scouts Association Imperial Headquarters by its Commonwealth commissioner, Charles Dymoke Green Jr. In this period, the chief commissioner of Maldives was the late Mr. Ahmed Zaki.
