Abdullah Al Mamun (reciter)
Abdullah Al Mamun (born 10 July 2003) is a Bangladeshi Quran memorizer, reciter, and instructor, known for his participation in international Quran competitions. He won first place at the Egypt International Holy Quran Competition and the King Abdulaziz International Holy Quran Competition in 2017. He placed second at the Dubai International Holy Quran Award in 2016, and came fourth at both the Kuwait International Quran Recitation Competition in 2015 and the Khartoum International Holy Quran Award in 2018. He is the founding director of Alokito Quran International Hifz Madrasa, an institution focused on Quran memorization and study. Early life Abdullah Al Mamun was born on 10 July 2003 in Muradnagar Upazila, Comilla District, Bangladesh. His parents are Abul Bashar and Amena Begum. Hafiz (Quran)
In Islam, a Hafiz (; , pl. ''ḥuffāẓ'' , f. ''ḥāfiẓa'' ) is a person who has memorized the Quran. Hafiza is the female equivalent. A hafiz is highly respected by the community. A hafiz or hafiza are given titles such as "Hafiz Sahb" (Sir Hafiz), "Ustadh" (أُسْتَاذ) (Teacher), and occasionally Sheikh (شَيْخ). Quran The Quran consists of 114 Surah (chapters), 6,666 or 6,236 verses (a topic of scholarly disagreement), and about 77,797 words in the original Classical Arabic. Importance ''Hifz'' means memorization of the Quran. Hufaz names the Muslim belief that whoever memorizes the Quran and acts upon it will be rewarded and honoured by Allah.
