Abdul Wahhab () is a male Muslim given name, and in modern usage, surname. It is built from the Arabic words '' ʻabd'' and '' al-Wahhāb'', one of the names of God in the Qur'an, which give rise to the Muslim theophoric names. It means "servant of the all-giver". ʿAbd () is an Arabic language, Arabic word meaning one who is subordinated as a slave or a servant, and it means also to worship. The word can also be transliterated into English as 'Abd, where the apostrophe indicates the ayin, denoting a voiced pharyngeal fricative consonant or some Reflex (linguistics), reflex of it. In Western ears, it may be perceived as a guttural 'a' sound. Abdul Wahab Khan Tarzi
Abdul Wahab Khan Tarzi (24 November 1903 – 20 January 1994) was an Afghan civil servant. He was born in Damascus in November 1903, and was educated at Oxford University. From 1925 to 1928, he served as director general of the Protocol Branch. In 1928, Abdul Wahab Tarzi became the acting foreign minister. On January 26, 1928, he was given the high prestige of officer, with the Order of the Legion of Honour of France. In 1929, Tarzi married Khadija, a daughter of Amir Habibullah Khan. She died in 1995. Muhammad Abdulwahhab
Haji Abdul Wahhab (, 1 January 1923 – 18 November 2018) was an Islamic preacher and the emir of Tablighi Jamaat in Pakistan. Early life and education Muhammad Abdul Wahhab was born in Delhi, British India, in 1923 into a Rajput family originally from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The family moved to Lahore following the 1947 partition, where he graduated from the Islamia College and became a government employee. After graduation he worked as a tehsildar in pre-partition India. In his youth he also worked for Majlis-e-Ahrar-e-Islam, In and was influenced by Abdul Qadir Raipuri (1878–1962). Abdul Wahhab Pirji (; 1890 – 29 September 1976), popularly referred to as Pirji Huzur (), was a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar, author and educationist. He was a disciple of Ashraf Ali Thanwi and the founding principal of Jamia Hussainia Ashraful Uloom in Bara Katara, Dhaka. Shah Abd al-Wahhab (; 1894 – 2 June 1982) was a Bangladeshi Deobandi Ulama, educator, jurist, preacher of Islam ( tablighi), and spiritual leader. He served as the ''second rector'' of Darul Uloom Hathazari, a former vice president of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, and sat on the Chittagong Court jury for 23 years. Abdul Wahab al-Shawaf ; 1916 – 9 March 1959) was an Iraqi military officer and the leader of the 1959 Mosul uprising in March 1959 against then Prime Minister Abdul Karim Qasim. Afif Abdul Wahab (1915–2003) was a Lebanese medical doctor, general surgeon and urologist, businessman and philanthropist, born and raised in El Mina. After receiving his Medical Doctorate from the American University of Beirut in 1941, he opened up a hospital in his hometown of El-Mina in 1946 in partnership with Joseph Yamine and Richard Jebara, for a short period before moving to Saudi Arabia in 1949.
