Abdul Sattar Ranjoor
Abdul Sattar Ranjoor (12 October 1917 – 23 March 1990) was a Kashmiri politician, and renowned revolutionary poet and writer. He was a veteran leader of the Communist Party of India (CPI). Ranjoor was the founding state secretary of the party in Jammu and Kashmir.''Early Times Plus''. He took part in the struggle against Autocratic Dogra rule. He was active in the Ahmadi movement between 1934 and 1937. In 1939 he joined the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference. Ranjoor also played an important role in building up the peasant movement in the Kashmir valley. He was jailed in 1942 for his role in the peasant movement. The Communist Party of India (CPI) is a political party in India. The CPI considers the Foundation of the Communist Party of India, December 26, 1925 Cawnpore (Kanpur) conference as its foundation date. Between 1946 and 1951, the CPI led militant struggles such as the Telangana Rebellion, peasant revolt in Telangana, organising guerrilla warfare against feudal lords.
