Abdul Baseer (cricketer)
Abdul Baseer (also spelled Basheer) (born 2 September 1989) is an Indian first-class cricketer, active since 2009–10, who has played for Hyderabad. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. Baseer made his top-class debut for Hyderabad on 13 March 2010 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, a Twenty20 competition involving teams participating in the Ranji Trophy. Playing in a quarter-final match against Mumbai at the Holkar Stadium, Baseer opened the bowling and took none for 30 as Mumbai totalled 181 for seven. He was due to bat at number ten for Hyderabad but was not needed as his team won the match by seven wickets. Hyderabad progressed to the semi-final and played Delhi at the Holkar Stadium. Delhi batted first and scored 157 for eight with Baseer taking none for 25. Hyderabad won by five wickets and, as in the first match, Baseer was not needed to bat. Delhi Cricket Team
The Delhi cricket team is a first-class cricket team based in Delhi, run by the Delhi District Cricket Association, that plays in India's first class competition, the Ranji Trophy and limited-overs Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. They have won the Ranji Trophy seven times and have been runners-up eight. Their latest title in 2007-08 came after a long wait of 16 years. Mohnish Mishra
Mohnish Dinesh Mishra (born 9 February 1984) is an Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. He was banned from Indian cricket due to his signing with the rebel ICL. Subsequently, Mishra left the ICL and, following an amnesty offer from BCCI, returned to Indian domestic cricket. A middle-order batsman, Mishra made his first-class cricket debut for Madhya Pradesh against Railways in 2000/01 at the age of 16. However, he played just two games in that season. He also represented India at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in 2002. But then he went through a period of four years without competitive cricket as he failed to impress the selectors of his state team. He made a comeback during the 2005/06 season, but his domestic career was cut short after he signed up with the Delhi Giants team in the now-defunct Indian Cricket League. Gymkhana Ground is a cricket ground in the Secunderabad, Telangana. No major stadiums are located in Secunderabad apart from Gymkhana Ground and is the most important ground in the city. History The ground was established in 1928 when Hyderabad Cricket Club and Raja Dhanrajgir's XI played on the ground in Behram-ud-Dowlah Tournament. The Madhya Pradesh cricket team is a domestic cricket team based in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It competes in the Ranji Trophy. History Holkar cricket team A Central India team competed in the Ranji Trophy between 1934–35 and 1939–40, playing 12 matches. In 1941, Holkar entered the competition, organised and managed by King Yashwantrao Holkar II belonging to the Holkar dynasty of the Marathas. Leg Before Wicket
Leg before wicket (lbw) is one of the ways in which a batsman can be dismissed in the sport of cricket. Following an appeal by the fielding side, the umpire may rule a batter out lbw if the ball would have struck the wicket but was instead intercepted by any part of the batter's body (except the hand holding the bat). The umpire's decision will depend on a number of criteria, including where the ball pitched, whether the ball hit in line with the wickets, the ball's expected future trajectory after hitting the batsman, and whether the batter was attempting to hit the ball. Leg before wicket first appeared in the laws of cricket in 1774, as batsmen began to use their pads to prevent the ball hitting their wicket. Run (cricket)
In cricket, a run is the unit of scoring. The team with the most runs wins in many versions of the game, and always draws at worst (see result), except for some results decided by the DLS method, which is used in rain-shortened limited-overs games when the two teams have had a different number of opportunities to score runs. One run (known as a " single") is scored when the two batters (the striker and the non-striker) start off positioned at opposite ends of the pitch (which has a length of 22 yards) and then they each arrive safely at the other end of the pitch (i.e. they cross each other without being run out). There is no limit on the number of runs that may be scored off of a single delivery, and depending on how long it takes the fielding team to recover the ball, the batters may run more than once.
