Mallam AbdulRazzaq Ibrahim Salman is a Nigerian Muslim leader and activist from Ilorin, Kwara, best known as the President of Abibakr As-Sidiq Philanthropic Home. Salman was born and raised in Ilorin, Kwara. In 1998 he founded Abibakr As-Sidiq Philanthropic Home, a non-governmental organization in Kwara State, Nigeria. He is serving as the executive director of the World Muslim Congress, Nigerian Office. Charity Works Mallam AbdulRazzaq Ibrahim Salman has carried out charitable activities in different regards. He founded Abibakr As-Sidiq Philanthropic Home, an Islamic Charitable organization in Nigeria that helps the poor people in the community. Ilorin is the capital city of Kwara State in Western Nigeria.. Retrieved 18 February 2007 As of the 2006 census, it had a population of 777,667, making it the 7th largest city by population in Nigeria. History Ilorin was founded by the Yoruba, one of the three largest ethnic groups in Nigeria, in 1450. It became a provincial military headquarters of the ancient Oyo Empire, and later became a Northern Nigeria protectorate when Shehu Alimi, an itinerant Islamic preacher and teacher, took control of the city through the spread of Islam. The capital was occupied by the Royal Niger Company in 1897 and its lands were incorporated into the British colony of Northern Nigeria in 1900, although the emirate continued to perform ceremonial functions. Kwara State ( yo, Ìpínlẹ̀ Kwárà), is a state in Western Nigeria, bordered to the east by Kogi State, to the north by Niger state, and to the south by Ekiti, Osun, and Oyo states, while its western border makes up part of the international border with Benin Republic. Ilorin Emirate
The Ilorin Emirate is a traditional state based in the city of Ilorin in Kwara State, Nigeria. It is largely populated by the Yoruba-speaking people, though the kingdom is a hybrid state due to the influence of the many other tribes that make up the city. It is one of the Banza Bakwai - or copy-cats of the legitimate Hausa Kingdoms - as a result of it being part of the Sokoto Caliphate. History The first settlers in Ilorin were Barubas who lived there for many years and considered the area their own; they left with no known reason. Then came Ojo Isekuse, a Yoruba hermit, who lived by the sharpening stone where hunters gathered to sharpen their wares. Ilorin was named after the sharpening stone which still exists today. Ojo Isekuse allegedly left after committing incest with his daughter, and another family named Asaju settled near the sharpening stone. Nigerian Muslims
Islam is one of the largest religions in Nigeria and the country has the largest Muslim population in West Africa. In 2021, the CIA World Factbook estimated that 53.5% of Nigeria's population is Muslim. Islam is predominantly concentrated in the northern half of the country, with a significant Muslim minority in the southern region.
