Abdelmalek Sellal ( ar, عبد المالك سلال, ʿAbd al-Mālik Silāl; born 1 August 1948) is an Algerian politician who was Prime Minister of Algeria from 3 September 2012 to 13 March 2014 when he took a leave of office to support President Abdelaziz Bouteflika's re-election campaign and again from April 2014 to May 2017. Life and career Sellal was born on 1 August 1948 in Constantine, Algeria. Sellal worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1995 to 1996 and was posted in Budapest as Ambassador to Hungary from 1996 to 1997. Subsequently, he was appointed to the government, serving as Minister of the Interior from 1998 to 1999, Minister of Youth and Sports from 1999 to 2001, Minister of Public Works from 2001 to 2002, Minister of Transport from 2002 to 2004, and Minister of Water Resources from 2004 to 2012. Ahmed Ouyahia
Ahmed Ouyahia ( ar, rtl=yes, أحمد أويحيى, Aḥmad ʾŪyaḥyā; 2 July 1952) is an Algerian politician who was Prime Minister of Algeria four times (1995–98, 2004–2006, 2008–2012, 2017–2019). A career diplomat, he also served as Minister of Justice, and he was one of the founders of the Democratic National Rally (RND) as well as the party's secretary-general. He is considered by Western observers to be close to the military of Algeria and a member of the " eradicator" faction in the 1990s civil war against Islamist militants. Ouyahia resigned as Prime Minister in March 2019 following President Bouteflika's announcement that he would not seek reelection, and Ouyahia was arrested in June 2019 for crimes related to corruption. He was the African Union's Commissioner for Peace and Security from 2008 to 2013 and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2017 and briefly in March 2019. Tlemcen
Tlemcen (; ar, تلمسان, translit=Tilimsān) is the second-largest city in northwestern Algeria after Oran, and capital of the Tlemcen Province. The city has developed leather, carpet, and textile industries, which it exports through the port of Rachgoun. It had a population of 140,158 at the 2008 census, while the province had 949,135 inhabitants. Former capital of the central Maghreb, the city mixes Berber, Arab, Hispano-Moorish, Ottoman, and Western influences. From this mosaic of influences, the city derives the title of capital of Andalusian art in Algeria.
