Abdelkader Laïfaoui
Abdelkader Laïfaoui (born 29 July 1981) is an Algerian international retired footballer. Mainly a central defender, he could also play as a right back. An Algerian international since 2004, Laïfaoui was a member of the Algeria national team at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He was also a member of the Algeria A' national team that finished fourth at the 2011 African Nations Championship in Sudan. Club career In December 2005, Laïfaoui was linked with a move to Tunisian side Club Africain. Despite traveling to Tunis and agreeing to personal terms with the club, CR Belouizdad refused to release the player and an agreement on a transfer fee could not be reached. On 25 July 2011 Laïfaoui signed a two-year contract with USM Alger, joining them on a free transfer from ES Sétif. Algerian Cup
The Algerian Cup () also known the Republic Cup (), is a football competition in Algeria, pitting regional teams against each other. It was established in October 1962, three months after independence, and has been played yearly since then apart from 1990 and 1993. The most successful club in this competition are CR Belouizdad with nine trophies. The record for consecutive wins in the competition is only two, several teams have achieved such USM Alger, CR Belouizdad, MC Oran, JS Kabylie and MC Algiers. The 2010 North African Super Cup was the first edition of the competition initiated by the North African Football Union (UNAF), an annual football match between the winners of the previous season's North African Cup and North African Cup Winners Cup competitions. The match was contested by 2009 North African Cup of Champions winners, ES Sétif, and 2009 North African Cup Winners Cup Champions, CS Sfaxien at the Stade 8 Mai 1945 in Sétif on 8 August 2010. North African Super Cup
The North African Super Cup was an annual association football competition which was launched in 2010. It is organised by the Union of North African Football Federations. The Super Cup pits the winner of the North African Cup of Champions against the winner of the North African Cup Winners Cup. The competition was cancelled on 2011 because of the Arab Spring revolutions. On 2015, UNAF decided to merge the North African Cup of Champions and the North African Cup Winners Cup to create the UNAF Club Cup, so the competition was abolished automatically. The 2009 North African Cup of Champions was the second edition of the competition initiated by the North African Football Union (UNAF). Algerian side ES Sétif were crowned champions after beating Tunisian champions ES Tunis in a penalty shootout in the final. The North African Cup of Champions was a tournament designed by the Union of North African Football (UNAF) that puts together the winners of the domestic leagues around North Africa. The tournament contains representatives from Algeria, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia. History On October 6, the representatives of the Federation of North African Football (FNAF) met in Tunis. They agreed that North Africa, once one of the strongest regions in African football, did not have a regional competition that represented the region. The Arab Club Champions Cup (, ) is a club football competition organised by the Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA) and contested by top clubs from the Arab world.
