Abbas Mohtaj
Abbas Mohtaj ( fa, عباس محتاج) is an Iranian military officer and politician. He served in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps during Iran–Iraq War and was moved to the Islamic Republic of Iran Army after the war, holding office as the Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy between 1997 and 2005. Mohtaj was a government official in the administration of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from 2005 to 2009, serving as a governor and then a vice minister. Military career Mohtaj was deputy chairman of the General Staff of the Revolutionary Guards from 1988 to 1989. He was appointed as the deputy commander of the Ground Forces of the Revolutionary Guards under Mostafa Izadi in 1989. Sardar (IRGC)
Sardar ( fa, سردار), roughly equivalent to "General", is the honorific title used for officers of high rank, ranking Second Brigadier General and higher in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and commanders of the Law Enforcement Force of Islamic Republic of Iran (Police) who have previously served in the former military or the Islamic Revolution Committees, as well as the commanders of the disbanded Jihad of Construction. Mohammad Nazemi Ardakani is an Iranian politician who served as the minister of cooperatives and governor of the Qom province. Career Ardakani served as the representative of the religious judge in the Iranian Army's revolutionary courts in western Iran. Then he became a member of the IRGC's political bureau in Kurdistan province. He served as a member of the supreme labor council from 1990 to 1994. When then newly-elect President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad's nominee for the minister of cooperatives was not approved by the Majlis, Ardakani was named acting minister in September 2005.
